PART 2!!

The good vibes just kept on going 😎

After our visit to @swabartfair on 10/10 our group headed over to @barete_bcn for a special Tapas & Natural Wine dinner. As one of Barcelona’s only restaurants with a menu 100% Gluten Free, our guests enjoyed classic dishes such as Russian Salad with tuna belly, Burgos Black pudding, a selection of sandwiches including Calamari, Oxtail, and their famous Fool’s Gold Loaf featuring peanut butter, jam, and bacon (Elvis Presley’s favorite 😉)

Whew what a weekend ✨

On Saturday, we had the honor of Co-Hosting a specially curated SWAB Art Fair event with @datarte.art and @nataliacorrea.mendez for an afternoon of Networking, a guided tour through exhibits like VORTEX, and a few refreshing glasses of cava to celebrate all things contemporary art.

Consisting of Latin American artists from Argentina, Guatemala, Mexico, Colombia, and more, curator Lena Solá shared how each artist was inspired by their own unique history, and how artists from Latin America and Barcelona on bridging the gap between two cultural landscapes.

Meet Our Fall Interns, Ela Sagona and Tianna Huges!

One of the biggest driving forces behind our internship program is education. For us, creating opportunities for the next generation of PR and social media professionals means making sure our interns are doing more than simply observing from the sidelines.

Our interns work hands-on within Woke Media, getting real insight into the day-to-day of an agency while building practical skills across PR, social media, content, client work, strategy and more. From learning how the industry works to understanding what it takes to bring an idea from concept to execution, the goal is to leave the program with knowledge and experience they can actually carry forward. With the conversation and pressure surrounding organizations moving away from DEI language, there is growing concern among nonprofits about what these changes could mean for the communities they serve. The language organizations use can shape trust, public perception, and ultimately influence how those communities are represented and treated by the media, politicians, and the public.

Liz Frederick from @avenuesforjustice recently shared her stance with @npquarterly discussing the issue, noting that the push to move away from language identifying people as Black and Brown “isn’t just a change in terminology. It erases part of the story,” when referring to AFJ participants.

In the latest episode of @nextinnonprofits Podcast, The Interchurch Center President & Executive Director, Robert J. Bolton Jr., joins host Steve Boland for a conversation about the role shared spaces can play in advancing nonprofit missions.

Robert talks about TIC’s approach to providing below-market office space and the tangible impact that can have on organizations. He shares the example of @metroworldchild, which was able to expand its footprint while reducing its real estate costs, allowing more resources to stay focused on its mission. The conversation also explores how nonprofit office space has changed since COVID, TIC’s earned-revenue model, and the possibility of fundraising to help expand the Center’s mission in the future.
