POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Two weeks ago, we gave you a glimpse.

Today, we're honored to share the full story.

Some finish lines are measured in miles.

Others are measured in the people who help you get there.

For Brian "Wolfie" Peterson, the Desert Peak Ultra wasn't just another race. It was his first true mountain 100K, a course filled with relentless climbs, unforgiving terrain, and more elevation than he had ever faced before. It demanded trust. Perseverance. The willingness to keep moving forward when every step became harder than the last.

But no one reaches a finish line like this alone.

Behind every mile was a family discovering a world they had never been able to experience before. A pacing crew giving everything they had. Friends who believed in the journey. And countless unseen moments that never appear in the race results.

We were privileged to witness it.

Throughout Brian's training, the Cikada Touring gave his wife and daughter the freedom to ride alongside him, transforming long training days into unforgettable family moments. On race day, our own Angelo joined Brian's pacing crew, while the Cikada Touring and City helped our film crew follow the action across the course, capturing a story that deserved to be told.

This isn't a film about e-bikes.

It isn't even about running.

It's about courage when the climb feels endless. It's about family choosing to share a journey that was once walked alone. It's about discovering that the greatest victories aren't always standing on a podium, but becoming the person you had to be to reach the finish line.

This is Brian's story.

We hope it inspires you to chase your own.

Watch the full film, and if it inspires your next adventure, discover the 120mi max range Cikada Touring that helped make this story possible in the link in bio.

IT’S BEEN SO LONG

Desert Peak Ultra 100k (plus some bonus Wolfie miles) done.

I was intentionally quiet and less public going into this race. I had to purge over 2 years of skeletons. This was going to be my first Ultra since 2023 Javelina 100k. It wasn’t for lack of motivation or desire - several DNS races at Man against Horse, Adrenaline and Pass Mountain due to injury and illness. Fitness was gained and lost from the training blocks leading into each DNS.

Desert Peak 100k was the perfect opportunity to pin a bib and test myself against the person and performance I think I’m capable of.
I trained to maximize my fitness within the framework of my complete life. Many in the 95 understand the challenge to meet the physical demands to prepare for these Ultra’s while not compromising or forcing sacrifices upon our spouses, children and careers. It’s never perfect and compromise in the direction of those who love you regardless of how you perform always produces a more sustainable relationship with Ultra’s. I say this with many mistakes made and apologies in my rear view mirror.

More to come, crew to thank, pictures to share, post-race podcast in the works.

Thank you @joecorcione and @desertpeakultra for the incredible effort to organize this race and race day support.

OK maybe the first AI thumbnail was a bit mental, but it’s all about levity and fun. Lost some people and spent some goodwill I had acquired from the 95.

Honestly, I standby this episode with unwaivering conviction and this reel is a reflection of the message and tone.

Challenge yourself to consider the opposing views with the same spirit you hold of your own.

What Has Trail Running Culture Become? Who defines it?

In this episode, we analyze and breakdown the controversy surrounding Singletrack. Focusing on Finn’s attempt to prevent Mike McKnight’s access to race TOR, their attempt to prevent McKnight from earning a living in the sport and wipe away his 2026 results.

The 95 is a diverse group with diverse opinions, morales, principles, world views and how/when to seek justice. We celebrate the fullness of the 95! We believe speaking about differences in good faith conversation is the way forward.
Taking covert action and trying to weaponize your platform to destroy a man’s livelihood and access to a sport void of any real regulations is not the response the 95 supports. It’s not the culture or community trail runners embody.

Let us know in the comments where you land and let’s keep the conversation moving forward.
