Some of my favorite shots from a recent workshop with @woodstock_land_conservancy - Macroinvertebrate Photography with @phrankberes!

We spent the afternoon at the side of (and in) the Fontyne Kill, learned about & photographed some interesting insects. I didn’t really know anything about Dragonflies and Mayflies going into this, so it was very cool to get a little glimpse into their world. They’re pretty difficult to photograph too as they really like to move around 😵‍💫 taken in Woodstock, New York by @wolfingtons

Spent some time at @ravensbeardwildlifecenter for a tour and got some photos along the way! Thank you to @woodstock_land_conservancy for putting on these great educational events. 💗👁️🦉 taken in Ravensbeard Wildlife Center by @wolfingtons

Veil & Revelation

A couple of variations of the same portrait, processed slightly differently. I can’t decide which one I enjoy more. I like them both for their own reasons so I’ll share both instead 😛 by @wolfingtons

Between realms // in transit

Shifting, sliding, watching from the sides. a freeze, a melt, a dive headfirst. morphing & metabolizing - a metamorphosis.

In other news,
I read an Ansel Adams book the other day and now I can’t stop shooting for black and white. It’s a fun exploration - it sort of strips the experience back a bit. It’s got me more focused on texture and composition, as well as the interplay of light and shadow. Sometimes post processing images can feel a bit “down the rabbit hole” when there’s color adjustment happening, but black and white gives a bit of a limitation in how crazy you can get with the edits. As I understand it, Amsel Adams stuck to monochrome photography, even after the advent of color film. Limitations can be liberating 🐼🦨🏴‍☠️ by @wolfingtons
