We’re so excited to see 22 Women for Election alumni on the campaign trail for Tasmania’s local government elections this month.

Across the state, they’re knocking on doors, attending community events, listening to voters and putting their hands up to lead.

We’re proud to have been part of their journey and can’t wait to see what they achieve.

Join us in wishing them the very best of luck. 👏✨

To us, they’re already winners! #runningiswinning

The impact of Women for Election is more than election wins. It's confidence built, barriers broken, and more women putting themselves forward to lead.

Hear Women for Election CEO Licia Heath share why this work matters in her conversation with Amanda Webb on her podcast, @hertimeherplace. 🎙️✨ by @womenelectionoz

We've lost count of how many women have told us, "I wish I'd done this sooner."

Whether you're curious about politics, thinking about or planning to run, or simply looking to grow your confidence as a leader, EQUIP is designed to help you take that next step.

One heads up: this month's program sold out, and November is our final EQUIP for the year.

If you've been sitting on the fence, now's the time to jump in. 💜

Thanks to everyone who joined us to celebrate International Day of Democracy at Government House in Canberra last week.

A beautiful reminder that democracy is built not just in institutions, but in moments of community and connection like these.

Too often, women in politics are expected to simply accept online abuse as part of the role.

We disagree.

No one should have to choose between participating in democracy and protecting their wellbeing.

Join us on 7 October for a free webinar to learn about Face Forward, a groundbreaking technology developed designed to:

✅ Automatically filter harmful or abusive comments before you see them
✅ Detect coordinated attacks and escalating harassment
✅ Help you monitor online risks while maintaining control of your social media presence

Face Forward is available to:

✅ Candidates planning to run for office
✅ Elected representatives
✅ Communications and social media staff of either of the above

FACE FORWARD WEBINAR
📅 Wednesday 7 October 2026

Today our team celebrated International Day of Democracy with two coordinated events in Canberra; a gathering at Government House hosted by Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, followed by a cross‑party activation at Parliament House with MPs and staffers.

Participation and public engagement are at the core of any strong democracy, and Women for Election is proud to amplify the voices and participation of women in our political chambers - from Councils to Canberra.
