GOUT STUNS BAAB AS FINAL FOUR DECIDED IN SAN FRANCISCO 🏆 🇺🇸 👇

3 October 2026 -The semi-finalists are set at the 2026 Women’s Match Racing World Championship following a dramatic day of quarter-final racing on San Francisco Bay.

France’s Lucie Gout produced the upset of the day, defeating round-robin winner Lindsey Baab (USA) 3–1. Baab had dominated qualifying with a 10–1 record, but Gout, who had qualified eighth, turned the tables when it mattered to secure her place in the final four.

Defending five-time World Champion Pauline Courtois (FRA) continued her impressive title defence with a commanding 3–0 victory over New Zealand’s Megan Thomson, while Dutch skipper Julia Aartsen advanced after defeating Sweden’s Martina Carlsson 3–1.

Local favourite Nicole Breault (USA) completed the semi-final line-up with a convincing 3–0 win over Sweden’s Anna Östling.

The latest live scores have Courtois leading Gout 2–0, while Aartsen leads Breault 2–1 in the first-to-three semi-finals.

BAAB AND COURTOIS TOP QUALIFYING IN SAN FRANCISCO 🏆 🇺🇸

American Lindsey Baab/ Fog Racing and defending World Champion Pauline Courtois and her Match in Pink by Normandy Elite Team of France topped the qualifying standings at the 2026 Women’s Match Racing World Championship after an impressive opening round robin on San Francisco Bay.

Baab and Courtois finished tied at the top with outstanding 10–1 records, well clear of the chasing pack. Baab’s only defeat came against Australia’s Juliet Costanzo, while Courtois’ sole loss was to Baab.

Behind the leaders, Dutch skipper Julia Aartsen and San Francisco local Nicole Breault both finished strongly at 7–4, securing third and fourth respectively.

Sweden’s Anna Östling advanced in fifth with a 6–5 score, followed by compatriot Martina Carlsson and New Zealand’s Megan Thomson, both at 5–6. France’s Lucie Gout claimed the final quarter-final position at 4–7, edging out Australia’s Juliet Costanzo.

The top 8 quarter-final line-up is now set with Baab facing Gout, Courtois taking on Thomson, Aartsen meeting Carlsson, and Breault lining up against Östling.
