It took me over a year to make this..and what a beautiful wild year it has been! We would go to a cool place and I would forget to add a snippet. So grateful to have visited 12 states, 12 National Parks, and I donโ€™t know how many national monuments.

We got to snowbird and be a block from the ocean all winter, we went deep sea fishing and caught shark and wahoo. We were able to learn about so much more than if we stayed in one place. We learned with it in front of us, feeling it, smelling it, seeing it. Rather than looking at a photo in a text book.

Donโ€™t get me wrong we have had MANY trials during this year as well, but Iโ€™m grateful for all of the lessons with those as well.

We took our first maiden voyage with our new home before our stick and brick house closed.
.
No most people would go to a close campsite just to make sure that there arenโ€™t any issues. Apparently we are crazier than most people, and we took 1000 mile voyage to see my family in Wyoming for the Fourth of July holiday. The trailer pulled like a champ (we are still trying to come up with a name for it) and we had the experience of sleeping at a couple of rest stops for the first time.

However we ran into a MAJOR truck issue with was incredibly unfortunate and that has halted some of our next moves.

While stopped at a rest area in Montana, I took a moment to look back at our new life situation and just have my heart be filled with so much gratitude. It was worth taking a photo

We went to Robbieโ€™s in the Florida Keys to feed the tarpon, and letโ€™s just sayโ€ฆ my husband took things to the next level. Holding onto the fish long enough for the tarpon to completely engulf his hand? Bold move. But the best part? The absolute scream from another tourist! ๐Ÿคฃ

Have you ever fed these massive fish? Would you be brave enough to do this? Let us know! โฌ‡๏ธ

Tunnel Beach, Oregon ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŒŠ

The Oregon coast is one of those truly magical places and experiences that I want to experience over and over again. The tide pools are insane, beach rockhounding is on point, and the views are just spectacular!

And then you have places like Tunnel Beach, where you walk through a tunnel in the rock and come out to the most beautiful coastal views. ๐Ÿ˜

Between exploring the tide pools, spotting sea life tucked between the rocks, watching the waves roll in, and taking in the views, there is just SO much to discover here.

I love that you can visit the same stretch of coastline and find something completely different depending on the tides, the weather, and what catches your eye that day. One minute youโ€™re watching little creatures in a tide pool, and the next youโ€™re standing there mesmerized by the power and beauty of the Pacific.

The Oregon coast has my heart. Give me rocky beaches, hidden little corners, ocean views, and a reason to keep exploring, and Iโ€™m one happy girl. ๐Ÿค

And of course, weโ€™re still on our mission to find every lighthouse along the Oregon coast and all the agates and jasper we can get our hands on! ๐Ÿชจ๐Ÿ—ผ

Once we started making our way down the Oregon coast, we decided to give ourselves a couple of missions:

๐Ÿ—ผ Find every lighthouse in Oregon
๐Ÿชจ Find some beautiful agates and jasper along the beaches

And boyโ€ฆ did we ever! ๐Ÿ˜‚

But before we got serious about lighthouse hunting and rockhounding, we had to slow down and just enjoy the beaches because letโ€™s face it, they are STUNNING.

Short Beach is exactly that.

We wandered the shoreline, explored the tidepools, searched through the rocks, and just took our time taking in the scenery.

I found some old fishing gear that had washed ashore, and a a waterfall dropping right onto the beach.

Oregon really knows how to show off.

Trust meโ€ฆ the agates and jasper are coming. ๐Ÿชจ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿง€ Tillamook Cheese Factory | Part 2

Okay, the photos were funโ€ฆ but you really need to SEE this place. ๐Ÿ˜‚

The Tillamook Cheese Factory isnโ€™t just about watching cheese being made. There are interactive exhibits for the kids, too!

The kids got to try out the cow brush, test their hand at the milking simulator, and explore all the different ways you can learn about dairy farming and how everything goes from the farm to the cheese in your fridge.

But our favorite part?

๐ŸŽถ THE TILLAMOOK WHISTLE SONG. ๐ŸŽถ

I donโ€™t know who decided a cheese factory needed its own whistle song, but I am not mad about it. ๐Ÿ˜‚

And Iโ€™m telling you right nowโ€ฆ

ITโ€™S A BANGER. ๐Ÿง€๐ŸŽถ

So turn the sound on for this one because you donโ€™t want to miss it.

Tillamook was definitely one of those stops that ended up being way more entertaining than we expected!

๐Ÿง€ Welcome to the Tillamook Cheese Factory!

If youโ€™ve ever driven through Oregon, thereโ€™s a pretty good chance someone has told you that you have to stop here. So obviouslyโ€ฆ we did. ๐Ÿ˜‚

We spent some time exploring the Tillamook Cheese Factory, checking out the production floor, learning how their famous cheese is made, and of course taking in ALL the cheesy goodness.

Fun fact: Tillamook County Creamery Association was founded in 1909 by a group of local dairy farmers who joined together to make and market their cheese. More than a century later, Tillamook is still farmer-owned. ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿง€

These are some of our favorite photos from our stop, but there was WAY more to see than I could fit into one postโ€ฆ

Have you ever stopped at the Tillamook Cheese Factory?

What was your favorite cheese sample? Mine was the peppercorn

Some of you are going to recognize this house immediatelyโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‘€

Others might just see a really cool old house in Astoria, Oregon. ๐Ÿ˜‚

We spent the day doing our own self-guided tour of Astoria, visiting some of the places where they filmed The Goonies. We found the famous Goonies house, the old jail, Flavel House Museum, the bridge, and wandered around the harbor where we were greeted by some VERY loud seals. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿฆญ

Fun fact: Astoria became the โ€œGoondocksโ€ for The Goonies when filming took place here in 1984. The house was used as Mikey and Brandonโ€™s home, while several other recognizable locations around town also made their way into the movie.

Astoria had such a fun area to walk around and pop In and out of the shops. My favorite was the crystal shop and Iโ€™m kicking myself for forgetting the name. We also found a farmerโ€™s market where we had the best lemon rosemary cookies ๐Ÿช

Astoria is one of those places where you can spend a day chasing movie history, exploring the waterfront, and still stumble across something completely unexpected.

Hey you guys! ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ

Iโ€™m not saying running away to the coastline will solve all your problemsโ€ฆ

But Iโ€™m also not saying it wonโ€™t help. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŒŠ

Give me a rugged coastline, crashing waves, a lighthouse perched on the cliffs, and nowhere I need to be for a little while.

Sometimes you donโ€™t need to fix everything all at once. Sometimes you just need to go somewhere beautiful enough to remember that there is still so much good to be found in the world.

Soโ€ฆ whoโ€™s coming lighthouse hunting with me? ๐Ÿ ๐ŸŒŠโœจ

Seaside + Hug Point made for one pretty incredible Oregon Coast day. ๐ŸŒŠ

We started in Seaside, a coastal town with way more history than you might expect. The Lewis & Clark Expedition spent part of the winter of 1805โ€“06 in this area, and three members of the expedition established a salt works here, boiling seawater day and night to make salt for preserving their food. You can still visit a replica of the Salt Works today. We even found lots of sand dollars.

Then we headed down the coast to Hug Point, and this is where things got really interesting. We visited Hug Point on October 1, 2025, just weeks before Oregon State Parks closed the beach access because of erosion. We had no idea at the time that we were experiencing it during one of our last opportunities to explore it this way.

Before Highway 101 existed, the beach itself was the highway along this stretch of Oregon. Stagecoaches and other travelers had to make their way around this rocky point at low tide, literally hugging the cliff to get around it. Thatโ€™s where Hug Point got its name. The old road and even the wheel ruts from those early travelers can still be seen carved into the rock.

I love that I have a photo of one of those old cars hugging the exact corner where we were standing. Seeing the photograph next to our own pictures made the history feel so much more real.

We had a VERY small window of low tide when we visited, and even then the tide was still pretty high. We wanted to make it around the point to see the waterfall, so the kids and I had to move quickly when a wave started coming in.

I jumped up onto the rocks thinking I was safeโ€ฆ

Nope. ๐Ÿ˜‚

That wave still got us completely soaked.

It was chaotic, beautiful, and absolutely worth it.

And thatโ€™s one of the things I love about traveling this country. You can walk into a place expecting a pretty beach and leave having touched a little piece of history, learned something new, and gotten absolutely drenched by the Pacific. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŒŠ

Definitely one for the Oregon Coast bucket list. โค๏ธ

Did you know that during low tide, you can walk right up to an actual shipwreck on the Oregon Coast? ๐ŸŒŠโš“๏ธ

This is the Peter Iredale, and we felt pretty darn lucky that our timing lined up perfectly to experience it.

The Peter Iredale was a four-masted steel sailing ship built in England in 1890. On October 25, 1906, she ran aground on Clatsop Spit near the mouth of the Columbia River while trying to reach Portland. Dense fog, strong winds, and powerful currents made the already dangerous coastline even more difficult to navigate.

The coolest part? All 27 people aboard survived, but the ship itself never left the beach. Attempts were made to salvage her, but she eventually became embedded in the sand. More than a century later, her rusting remains are still sitting right there on the beach at Fort Stevens State Park.

And low tide gives you the chance to walk right up to what remains of this 1906 shipwreck. Itโ€™s one of those places where youโ€™re not just looking at history behind glass or reading about it on a signโ€ฆ youโ€™re literally standing beside it.

The Oregon Coast is full of stories like this, and I absolutely love finding the places where history and adventure collide.

Definitely adding this one to the travel bucket list. ๐ŸŒŠโค๏ธ
