Our friends at the @shortyfoundation kicked off the @musiconthemountain weekend in Vermont with two school visits on Friday by the Shorty Alumni Band. Bringing deeply inspired bayou culture and musical spirit to the far northeast, they left a lasting NOLA impression on students and faculty alike. Yeah you right! ⚜️

Jackie Greene, Anders Osborne and Daniel Donato played a magical campfire set on Friday night before the full day of good vibes and music on Saturday. We love that The Phoenix and Divided Sky organizations are cultivating a musical event that centers sober community, accountability, mental health and joyous expression. Clear-minded music and alcohol-free parties are here to stay, and we are honored to be part of them 💛 taken in Ludlow, Vermont by @wonderpiece

The Days Between weekends 1 & 2 of JazzFest in NOLA are getting to be my favorite. A super special project brought me down this year, led by the Aspen Institute, we had our third convening with Trombone Shorty Foundation, Newport Festivals Foundation, and industry thought leaders to continue tackling the huge conversation of career pathways for youth within the music industry. An inspiring core group of folks getting into the nitty gritty of it all. So many beautiful moments with partners and dear friends throughout the week, shoutouts to: ShortyFest at Tips, Grahame & Friends at The Joy, Jesse Lauter’s Little Feat docu at Toulouse, even snuck in a Dogs in the Pile late-night. Yesterday @americanafest we gathered for a timely panel discussion titled “Beyond the Stage: Mental Health in the Music Industry”. On World Suicide Prevention Day, we were reminded how absolutely vital it is to continue shedding light on the ever-evolving hardships so many face across the music community.

Our deepest thanks to panelists Jim James, Hilary Gleason, Greg Loiacono, Debbie Carroll, and Michael McDonald for sharing their honesty, wisdom, and compassion. We’re also so grateful to Michele Augis and Steve Sullens for bringing this panel to life with such care.

It means the world to know we are part of a community that shows up for one another, breaking stigmas and creating space for healing and connection 💙
