The woman behind the Wonki. 🤍 As Women’s Month comes to a close and we look towards Spring, we couldn’t end it without celebrating the woman who started it all — Di Marshall. From humble beginnings, a deep love for art and an instinct to create something beautifully different, Di began a journey that has now spanned an incredible 35 years. Over those 35 years, Wonki Ware has grown from a small South African pottery into an iconic brand — travelling from our little corner of the world to homes, stores and tables across the globe. But perhaps Di’s greatest legacy isn’t only what she has created with clay. It’s what she has created through people. She has empowered and uplifted so many local hands, giving people the opportunity to learn, create, grow and take pride in making something truly special. Her belief that beauty lies in individuality can be felt in every Wonki piece — no two exactly alike, each carrying the touch and story of the person who made it. Her creativity is infectious, her passion unmistakable, and her love for art is breathed into every piece and every person she meets.
