THE LAST DANCE 🎤 ‎ ‎Every event has a moment when you realize it is almost over, and you wish you had paid more attention. This year, wordliners open mic gave Kano a lot of those moments because there were stage performers that got people clapping before the performer had even finished the last line. ‎ ‎Also, there were first-timers who walked up shaking and walked back to their seats like they had grown two inches. Now we are down to the final one of 2026, and we are calling it "The Last Dance." So if you have been hearing about Wordliners all year and keeping your distance, this is the time to finally come. ‎ ‎📅 Date: Sunday, 29th November, 2026 ‎⏰ Time: 2:00 PM. ‎📍 Venue: TBA ‎🔗 Registration link: https://haske247.com/wordliners/ ‎ by @wordliners_open_mic

"Dorayi" ‎Before you judge me, listen to my story, because this is not just a poem, but a story of a girl who believes that every tears deserves a reason to smile. ‎ ‎I am not standing here because life was so easy for me, but I am standing here cause I refused to let hardship write my story. ‎ ‎This is a story of the girl who bleeds for people she has never met. Kano International Poetry Festival Day 1 @kapfest ‎ ‎Theme: "Reclaiming Languages" ‎ ‎Yesterday at KAPFEST, we reclaimed and celebrated our indigenous languages, including Hausa, Igala, Yoruba, Igbo, Fulfulde, Kanuri, and others. ‎ ‎The day featured incredible panel sessions and culminated in the highly anticipated Mudi Spikin Poetry Slam. ‎ ‎Indeed, it was a day to remember.
