This weekend at Rentak MalaysiaKu, you can sketch a moment, write a letter, share your work-in-progress in a writing circle, collect a few stickers along the way, watch some Bornean short films or maybe even get a (temporary) bunga terung tattoo.

We’ve curated a handful of special activities to help you slow down and experience the weekend in your own way, and at your own time. Some are quieter and more reflective, others are more communal. Discover for yourself what your slice of life is.

Tonight's First Reading ended up being an unexpected field trip to the Sugar and Rice exhibition at @hauskch (just down one floor!), where we were given a guided tour by curator @catrionamaddocks. Poets used the images, videos, and stories they witnessed here as their launchpad to writing their poem.

Honestly, this is my favourite type of prompt.

If you wish to submit your poem to the exhibition, please email it to macleanpatrick@gmail.com by 24 July.

And thanks for coming!
