New mural activation workflow.

Facial motion capture → animation

Then we remove the green background and place the mural image behind the animation layer.

Export the video → upload both the mural image + animation into Black Terminus AR.T.

Inside the platform we set green transparency so only the animated elements remain.

Download the Black Terminus app, point the AR camera at the mural, and the artwork comes to life.

Today, Oakland names a street after Bobby Seale — co-founder of the Black Panther Party.

His words and images were some of my earliest inspiration when I started creating in AR. I used his presence to bring stories to life across Oakland — letting his voice rise again through technology.

AR became my way to carry the Panthers’ message forward: that our history is alive, evolving, and still revolutionary.

As this new generation of Black creative technologists builds the future, we’re continuing that same mission — turning memory into movement, code into culture.

Creators, Culture, and AI: Who Benefits?

What does it mean to be a creator, but not a beneficiary?

AI is being trained on an enormous body of human creativity, including the art, language, aesthetics, histories, and cultural expressions of communities that have long been left out of the economic benefits of tech innovation.

As part of Nexus: SF/Bay Area Black Art Week, this conversation looks at how the cultural production of underrepresented communities is shaping AI, who currently holds the power and value in this fast-moving landscape, and what needs to change so artists and cultural communities can actively participate in and benefit from what’s next.

Beyond the risks, the panel will also explore practical opportunities for artists, cultural orgs, funders, and tech leaders to help build a more equitable future.

For four years in a row, I’ve traveled to Portimao to experience Black people from across the earth, descend on a town in the southern tip of Portugal with @blackbruhstravel

If you’ve known me, you have probably seen me evangelize on the spirit of AfroNation. This time, I was able to invite my nephew and collaborator @artbydubba capture what I’ve felt for such a long time: this experience and place making is both special and unmatched.

Can’t wait for yall to see the stories he has to come.
