I’m excited to finally be able to share with you my new body of work, in the making since 2020. ‘Worlds Apart’ is a series of immersive virtual environments that takes my research on, and exploration of, the phenomenon of social isolation a step further.

In my previous series, ‘Alone Together’ (2016-2019), I had envisioned a detached, bird’s-eye view of vast, alienating citiscapes. In the new series, I wanted to explore more individual narratives on the same theme.

‘Worlds Apart’ currently consists of three environments — each an expansive, uninhabited natural landscape containing a single man-made structure. Within these enclosures, highly detailed, familiar scenes unfold, each referencing a specific scenario of social isolation.

Watch this space as I share more images from the series in the coming days. And I hope to see many of you at the project’s first public showing, at this year’s @art_rotterdam (27-30 March) with @contour.gallery.

My work is known to be challenging to print, hence why all the printing is normally done in studio by me personally. I’ve never seen it printed as well on a feature before. Jens, it means more than you’d think 🙏 by @worksofar

We just delivered Phase 1 of our latest project, as part of @twist_museum Twist Museum in London's buzzy Oxford Circus, and couldn't be more thrilled!

Throwback to the @interactiveimmersivehq Championship taking place two weeks ago.

For the integration challenge, we had to combine @touchdesigner with any other real-time application to create a piece of immersive media in only 90 minutes.

I chose to use @notchvfx to create a scene taking reference from a brilliant piece by 'Collectif Scale', which was integrated and controlled through TouchDesigner.

I believe that the fact that something like this was put together in less than 90 minutes is a true testament to how powerful these two pieces of software can be when used together.

I am very happy to share with you that I managed to finish first at the Interactive & Immersive Championship that was taking place over the past weekend!

It was a great honour not only to have my work judged by industry legends Elburz Sorkhabi, Matthew Ragan, Greg Hermanovic & Arminas Kazlauskas but also to be able to compete amongst some phenomenally talented people.

Many thanks to @interactiveimmersivehq for putting this amazing show together as well as @touchdesigner and @notchvfx for not only sponsoring but providing us with these great industry leading pieces of software.
