When Michelle Michael graduated from Indian Lake High School, she was fueled by curiosity and a desire to see the world. Little did she know that leaving her small town in Ohio would eventually lead her and fellow Ohioan Brandon Whitworth on a 22-country journey to answer a not-so-simple question: How do you feed a growing world while protecting the land that sustains it?

This week, Michelle brought the film home, filling a theater in Bellefontaine with familiar faces and new ones, all ready to join the conversation.

Thank you, Bellefontaine, for the warm welcome, the thoughtful questions and a homecoming to remember.

Michelle Michael grew up 30 minutes from Bellefontaine — around farms, but not a farmer. She spent five years and 22 countries asking what a world without cows would really look like, talking to scientists, farmers, and ranchers.

Tonight, she brings it home.

For some communities, the future of cows is inseparable from their own.
