As Christopher Nolan’s new adaptation of The Odyssey brings Homer’s epic tale to a new generation, we’re reminded that every great story has its own remarkable journey.

Among the treasures of Wormsley’s library is a magnificent seventeenth-century edition of Homer’s The Iliads (1660) and The Odysses (1669), translated and illustrated by the celebrated John Ogilby. Richly engraved and beautifully printed, these extraordinary volumes transformed one of the world’s greatest stories into works of art.

More than 350 years later, they continue to captivate. Every page reflects the craftsmanship, imagination and enduring power of storytelling that has allowed Homer’s words to travel across centuries - from the printing press to the cinema screen.

We were delighted to welcome Jason Momoa @prideofgypsies and @electrogenicrev as they filmed on location for @hbomax series On The Roam.

Our Chilterns landscape provided the backdrop for filming a fascinating story about heritage, innovation and adventure, featuring two beautifully restored classic Land Rovers and three Harley-Davidson motorcycles reimagined as plug-in hybrids.

From woodland tracks to sweeping countryside views, Wormsley continues to attract filmmakers, photographers and creative teams looking for authentic and inspiring locations.

It’s always a pleasure to see the estate showcased to audiences around the world and to play a small part in bringing stories like this to life.

Each year, the @garsingtonopera chooses an image for its programme cover from the unique collection of books housed in the Wormsley Library.

This year’s image features a binding by Georges Leroux, which covers a book containing four etched illustrations by Kurt Seligmann (1900–62), the Swiss-born Surrealist artist who moved to Paris in the late 1920s before settling in New York in 1939.

The illustrations accompany poems by Clark Mills, Ivan Gol, Nicolas Calas and André Breton. The plates and text were published in four parts in New York between 1940 and 1943, in editions of between 30 and 50 numbered and signed copies.

Leroux’s binding, executed in 1972, is crafted from black box calfskin and set with three large circles of mother-of-pearl within metal serrated roundels.

It was truly an honour to host the Afghan Refugee Women’s XI in the first match of their UK tour yesterday. Our connection with these remarkable Afghan women began with the establishment of the Global Cricket Refugee Fund and MCCF will continue to support refugees and displaced people around the world.

They played an MCCF Select XI comprising girls from our MCCF Hubs in a T20 at the beautiful Wormsley Cricket Ground. The match was a thriller, with the tourists winning by two wickets!

The collaboration between ICC, ECB, MCC, Cricket Australia and Pitch Our Future to help these inspiring cricketers is a testament to what the cricket community can do on a global stage. by @wormsleyestate

This year marks 10 years of opening Wormsley’s beautiful Walled Gardens through the @nationalgardenscheme.

Over the past decade, we’ve welcomed hundreds of visitors, raised money for vital nursing and health charities, and shared one of Wormsley’s hidden treasures with garden lovers from near and far.

To mark the occasion, the National Garden Scheme has presented our gardening team with a commemorative trowel in recognition of our support – a wonderful honour for everyone involved.

Join us this year to explore the gardens, browse artisan craft stalls, enjoy homemade cakes and help us celebrate this special milestone.

We provide lighting, power, audio and on-site technical support to help bring the venue to life.

Outside, we strategically placed lighting highlighting the key areas of the venue which created a welcoming atmosphere as day turned to night.

Inside, we illuminated the impressive sun centrepiece, turning it into a standout feature and drawing guests' attention to the heart of the room.
