Hella clean. Very very happy with the end result.

@p3gauges 11th Gen Civic analog digital gauge paired with the FAST 0-5v oil temp sensor tapped into the oil drain plug with a 14x1.5 to 3/8" npt adapter.

Now I have the real real number instead of a calculated one.

Acuity shifter, bushings, and Kata Design boot delete installed!

Really looking forward to testing it all out at Thunderhill this weekend!

@j5_fl5 let me do a little test drive in his car at Gridlife Laguna to test out his clutch, and little did I know he had an @acuityinstruments shifter in the car. From that moment I was like man I need one of those! So thanks to Johnny for helping me to spend a little more money 😂.

Also a big thanks to Acuity for getting everything to me so quickly. I told them my hope is to test this upcoming weekend and they made it happen. If all goes well I plan to have these to offer to customers as well 😉. by @wot__performance

I've been getting a lot of questions of if the FL5 hood vent kit has rain guards. It does in fact come with rain guards for all 3 vents.

Here's the 3D modeling where you can see the vents with and without the rain guards.

The kit is on pre-order for the next week and first kits will start shipping in 3 weeks.

Track test review of the Wunderladen V2 Billet expansion tank.

First of all a massive thanks to Wunderladen for helping me out when I was in a pinch! Thank you guys saving my butt, and I appreciate the opportunity to test the new unit.

The tank looks beautiful and I feel like it goes nicely with everything my engine bay. The design is really clean. Luckily for me, the tank's performance on track rivals it's looks. I had zero issues all weekend and it quickly became something I didn't need to worry about. There's not a whole lot more than that to say, really it just gets the job done!

Because I've been so impressed both with the tank itself and Wunderladen as a company, we talked and I'm now going to be a vendor with them for this and their other products.

So when it's released definitely hit me up and I'll get one going your way! by @wot__performance

WOT FL5 TCR Style Hood Vents pre-order is LIVE!

$650 shipped within the US. International orders welcome, message for a shipping quote.

The pre-order will be for the next 7 days to give me an idea on quantity to produce, with orders expected to ship October 17th.

The 3 vents are massive compared to the small OEM center vent. As such they will help evacuate far more engine bay air, promote increased air flow through the radiator, and as a result will help keep coolant and oil temps lower on track.

The vent kit will come with rain guards pictured in images 5, 6, & 7 (image 7 has the passenger and center rain guards, with the driver's side left open just as a visual comparison.) The rain guards will be held in place by zip ties so they will be easy to remove and reinstall.

The vents and rain guards are made of aluminum with a gloss black powder coat finish. They are held in place with black aluminum rivets.

To pre-order you'll need to complete the order form and submit payment (options for payment listed at the end of the form).

1st of the cooling modifications installed, I took the opportunity to fit this when doing the #rigidcollar fit. @wot__performance under tray to help with the exit of hot air from the radiator and exhaust, the also improves the efficiency of air through the radiator. #spooncertified #spoonfl5 #spoonsports by @wot__performance

Gridlife Laguna for me:

The event itself is really cool. Tons of great people and great cars. Also love the multi discipline approach they have.

As for my performance, I drove decently well but got my tire strategy all wrong, showing I still have a lot to learn about how to maximize time attack. Ended up 3rd out of the 3 prominent Type R's: Marck with the new Laguna record 1:33.8, Johnny 1:35.1, myself 1:35.4

Tires: Came with 2 sets of new fronts - Nankang CRS for day 1, re71rz for day 2, and very heat cycled re71rz rears (lots of tread but like 18 heat cycles coming in).

Ran the crs day 1 and was way off the pace the whole time. Like 2 seconds - just no braking power or grip in the corners.

Switched to the rz on day 2 and first session out I gain 1.8 seconds to be only 0.3 off the top R at the time.

But the rears were a problem. In t3 big oversteer slide literally each first hot lap I would push. From my experience the rz really only want to be fast on the first hot lap and drop .5 - .75 by the second hot lap.

Even with 2 warm up laps they weren't ready; the best time I ran was on the second hot lap, which just isn't as fast.

So if I could do it all over again I would have brought 3 pair of rz squared 285 and just rotated through them each day front to rear.

All that said though, and I told this to a few people before the event, I think in the future I'm not going to concern myself with class rules and I'll just run the car in whatever class is goes in. Street Mod isn't the place for the R. We all know we have zero chance at the podium. Even with Marck running a crazy fast 33.8 he still got 8th. For the R to be competitive you have to run in street and basically have it stay vanilla with no aero mods allowed and full interior.

I've never wanted to build my car for a class so that just doesn't work for me, neither does adhering to class rules in a class that it's literally impossible to compete in. I've always just built the car for me.

Can actually place better in track mod or unlimited class crazy enough. No sour grapes, just an honest assessment. I have a ton of respect for the performances people put up, very very impressive.

I have to give a big thanks to @wunderladenracing for coming up clutch and making it happen!

They saw that I was having issues with my expansion tank, and they are helping me out. I have their prototype v2 coolant expansion tank arriving to me tomorrow and will be using it this weekend at Gridlife Laguna!

I very much appreciate it!

I'm looking forward to testing at the track and I'll let everyone know how performs.

Also, Origin has been great, they are going to take a look at the affected tank and see if something might be stuck in it. They also offered to send me a tank but I already had this one on the way. by @wot__performance

Hood Vents Test Fit = Success

Did a little mock up test fit for the new WOT hood vents and these are just about ready. Still need to do a full install to confirm everything but from the looks of it today, this should do it.

I'm very pleased with all aspects.

All 3 vents will have rain guards.

Laguna this upcoming weekend is going to delay my ability to do the install, but the following weekend should work, so that's the plan. by @wot__performance

Anyone know how to get ahold of @originfabrication in a hurry?

I have Gridlife Laguna this upcoming weekend and I'm having this odd issue with the overflow tank (hasn't happened before in the almost year that I've had it).

Basically when I go to fill the tank with fluid it will only fill up the neck and not go into the lower champer. The sight glass shows no fluid coming in.

When I remove the upper hose that connects to the radiator then the fluid moves into the lower tank. (Video attached).

My buddy came by and we swapped in his OEM tank, no issues. With my tank on his car the problem persists, so it's definitely something that's going on with the tank.

I've tried washing it out, shaking it around with water on the inside (thinking maybe something is stuck in a passage way), but no luck.

I'm a little stressed because I'm leaving Thursday morning to head towards Laguna.

I might just have to snag another tank and overnight it, just would rather not have to ideally.

Also I'm not trying to say anything bad about Origin, the tank looks amazing and it's worked great to this point. I'm just trying to fix this fast/get a replacement within the next 2 or 3 days max. by @wot__performance

With a little less than 2 weeks until the Gridlife event at Laguna, I'm doing what I can to mentally lock in.

Forza Motorsport, although not a true sim, I feel it helps with timing and flow. by @wot__performance
