The Nightgame world premiere at Chicago Underground is one week away. CUFF messaged me to say the Friday, 9pm screening is near selling out so I suggest getting tickets now. A hardpost two years in the making: my debut feature film, NIGHTGAME, will have its world premiere September 25 at the Chicago Underground Film Festival. The idea came from Armando and I riffing on a real youtube rabbit hole we were obsessed with. This naturally led to us writing a script, asking Nathaniel if he would play a pickup artist, then shooting the film in one month. I have been handling post on my own since. Now it’s ready for the world.

Here is how CUFF describes it: Two friends spend a kratom-fueled night binge-watching the rediscovered livestreams of Matt Nightgame, an obscure pickup artist whose marathon videos wander the parking lots, strip malls, and forgotten corners of the internet. What begins as ironic entertainment takes a darker turn when one of the women from the streams appears in a missing-person post, transforming late-night doomscrolling into an unsettling investigation. Blurring hangout comedy, digital noir, and conspiracy thriller, Nightgame captures the strange moral territory where spectatorship becomes complicity and online performance begins to resemble evidence. Written and shot for under $5,000 by musician and filmmaker Parker Corey (Injury Reserve/By Storm), this debut feature is a genuinely contemporary underground film—one that inhabits the rhythms, paranoia, and psychic residue of life online rather than merely commenting on them.

The film stars Nathaniel Ritchie, Armando Gabaldon, myself, Anta Diallo, Kiahna Chutich, Dario Resendiz and Pariah Pete. It’s written by Armando Gabaldon and myself. With cinematography by Joriel Cura and Noah Glynn, sound recording by Nathaniel Ritchie, assistant direction by McKay Robinson, associate producer: Nick Herbert, scored by —__–__ (aka Seth Aaron Graham and More Eaze), poster art (which has a bit of pillarboxing here btw thanks to insta’s aspect ratio) by Scott Agustin, and it is produced and directed by myself.

Niagara Falls 2026. Our spur of the moment visit reminded me of a movie idea I briefly pitched to Anta last year where two zillenial exes spend a long weekend there for an adulterous tryst. The idea came from a youtube video titled “Staying In The Most Luxurious Hotel Suite In Niagara Falls - It was terrible” so they would stay in the same Presidential Suite at the Hilton Fallsview. On their first night the woman would be woken by a phone call from her fiance, using an emergencies only sat phone, to let her know that both his parents had died in an accident and he would now be getting out of his remote science research work as soon as possible (with limited travel options, about 5 days). The rest of the film would be the two adulterers finishing out their weekend under this new guilty tension, forced to replace eroticism with tourist traps. Ideally something between We Won’t Grow Old Together, Wiseman reportage and the middle seaside part of Prenom Carmen. Not my best idea, but couldn’t help feeling inspired again seeing the falls in person. by @wparkercorey

A selfie on our (By Storm’s) new camera specifically designed for Content Creators by the team at Sony. It’s one of those point n shoots but in a 2025 way, well 2020 technically but still. Trying to become a content machine after watching a not great film called Lurker that reminded me being an artist’s pics n vids guy is a real job for a reason. I will be using it to document our show this Friday in Los Angeles at the Moroccan Lounge. by @wparkercorey

PHXLM Club is a new series of film screenings curated by Parker Corey. Born out of a desire to fill the gaping void of art house cinemas in Phoenix, we’re hosting free, blind screenings at a semi-regular pace.

Films will run around 90 minutes, followed by an open discussion for anyone who wants to stick around and talk. It’s just a film club, after all.
