“ up up above “ is out everywhere . oh boy .

this isn’t a deluxe . it’s the record . i mean yes , the “ record “ came out … + now it’s out again … with a few extra songs … ha . but for me it’s always been this . in this way . in this order . it’s a completion .

i’ve said enough in my posts about the record , but just to say again , this album means the world to me . i am so proud of it . i’ve never in my life or career been so heavily involved in the creation of something . i wrote six of the songs by myself + coproduced nine .

i’m so grateful to the small group of incredible people that created it with me . it simply wouldn’t exist without you . thank you for sharing your vision , space , time + your heads + hearts to create this .

i’ve also never had such a vision for a visual world - not at all that i came up with these incredible visuals but just that i had strong references + felt i knew where it existed .

the album was inspired + heavily contextualized by a book called “ nuclear war : a scenario “ by @anniejacobsenbooks . how the world could end with a few buttons . how there wouldn’t even be a trace we were ever even here .

i started this album out of boredom + frustration . + through naive experimentation , i found inspiration i didn’t know was there .

this is an album about love + life . about the feeling of impending loss even when you haven’t lost it . because , well , all of this is impermanent . how scary is that ? but how beautiful is that ? we get what we get while we get it . maybe that’s enough to try + cherish it .

“ up above “ out now everywhere .

i can’t put into words how much this record means to me . it started out of boredom , resentment , confusion and too much idle time . and it bloomed out of magic , wonder , awe , love , hope and exploration . i wrote a good bit of it by myself on my living room floor . my first time coproducing some of my own music . in so many ways , i feel like this record marks a return to where i started . pulling from my original inspirations . the record was also heavily inspired by @anniejacobsenbooks “ nuclear war : a scenario “ . that book and scenario contextualized a batch of songs i was forming . it raised the stakes on everything . on how deep love is . how fleeting life is . how every little moment is somehow completely insignificant and absolutely miraculous at the same time . how in an instant , there could be no trace we were ever even here . how much sweeter does that make the sweet ? how much more beautiful does that make the beauty ?

i cannot thank the incredible group of people that made this with me enough . @austinward.wav executive producing it with me and pouring so much heart , soul and magic into it . thank you for caring about this record so much and for putting yourself right in the center of it . and @hereisdamian for offering your absolute genius expertise and wholehearted passion throughout the record . thank you for challenging this to be the best it could be - and for helping make it just that . the incredible @emilylazarlodge @lodgemastering - the master of mastering . thank you @waywardlife for your guidance , creativity and trust . @trippydana the incredible artwork and photos / videos . @kyleheinen ty for making me look and feel so natural and pretty heh . @oprahtheactress thank you for your talents and creativity on so many visuals / logos / etc .

THANK YOU @austinward.wav @aqualung.official @hereisdamian @trippydana @donnacaseine @drewwpearson @eddie.echelon @emilylazarlodge @ericleva @halles_here @kyleheinen @laur_bailey @oprahtheactress @mattboerum @maxmichaeljacob @mike.sonier @nickmbradley @nickiloranger @waywardlife @vectormgmt @nettwerkmusic @reservoirmedia

i’m so excited to share that i am now on @useintro ! if you’re seeing this and you don’t know me - hello , i’m stephen wrabel - i go by “ wrabel “ - and i’m a songwriter and recording artist . i’ve written songs with / for some incredible artists like kesha , p!nk , teddy swims , meghan trainor , backstreet boys , illenium , and many more and have earned 5 platinum records and amassed 4B+ streams across the songs i’ve been a part of . [ pinch me cos the little kid inside me cannot believe all that ] . i’ve also released 3 full length albums as an artist , 5 ep’s and features and collaborations with artists like p!nk , kesha , afrojack , galantis , marshmello and more . i have also toured in many countries performing in small clubs and stadiums and everything in between .

i believe my experience as an artist myself - through two major label deals [ island def jam / epic ] an indie label [ nettwerk ] and fully independent [ big gay records ] combined with my experience writing with and for so many other artists in different genres can offer unique perspective and insight wherever you are on your own journey . i don’t come from a place of “ i know it all “ - i’m constantly learning myself - but a place of wonder , hope , and always coming back to the music itself . my path has been anything but a straight line and i’ve learned the twists and turns and climbs and falls are all part of a bigger picture - that’s something i am constantly reminding myself of .

as i am now on Intro , you can book one - on - one time with me for anything from general artist / songwriting advice as you venture out into map - less terrain to song critiques etc . i’m excited to help and support you in telling your stories , expressing your feelings and finding your own unique path whether you’ve written countless songs or it’s something you’ve always wanted to do but don’t even know where to start . 10% of proceeds will be donated to my absolute favorite @encircletogether . link is in my bio 🤍
