Three workouts. Three prayers before each timer began, and praise God.

For so long, I didn’t always feel worthy on the Burn floor.

I believed I was the slowest.
The biggest.
The one who didn’t quite belong.

For a while, I masked it with laughter—but deep down, I often felt like I was standing in my own way.

But during Level Up Games, something changed.

In my second workout, I was the last one still going in my heat.

As everyone else finished, they came around me cheering, yelling, pushing me to keep going. Their support was powerful—but it became overwhelming. The noise, the pressure, the chaos felt like too much.

Then I looked up… and locked eyes with Alicia.

She came in close—calm, gentle, steady—and guided me through my final reps step by step.

And suddenly, everything shifted.

The chaos didn’t disappear…
but it became silent.

And I felt the Lord say:
“When you keep your eyes locked on Me, the chaos around you loses its power.”

I crossed that finish line in tears.

Because this wasn’t just about fitness.

My life outside of Burn had been chaotic too. I’m healing, growing, and learning how to move forward through pain, distractions, and noise.

And somehow, God met me there—on that gym floor.

Since then, He has continued to guide me far beyond Burn.

He has placed godly friendships in my life.
Strengthened healthy boundaries.
Brought healing, clarity, and peace.

Burn transformed me physically—but God transformed me spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

He’s teaching me that when I stop letting fear and chaos lead, and instead fix my eyes on Him…

I don’t just survive—
I live.

That competition became more than a workout.

It became a turning point.

Because when I keep my eyes on Him, He will always guide my steps. 👑 by @wright.change

I found a picture of myself in my featured photos today (thanks, Apple 😅) from before I started taking care of myself.

Normally, I probably would have thought, “Gahhh.” But this time, my first thought was, “Why did I wait so long?” Why did I keep making excuses? Why did I keep waiting for the “right” time?

The truth is, there was never going to be a perfect time. You don’t just wake up one morning at 5 AM and suddenly become someone who loves getting out of bed and working out. I honestly don’t even remember the exact moment I took the jump. I just know that, little by little, I did.

And I had people around me who knew me better than I knew myself. Thank Jesus!

@alisongoodnight woke up with me for months, (bc she knows I love time with her) helping me create a habit I don’t know if I could have created on my own. @isabellagrace still texts me every morning at 4:20am and I know I’d struggle more without that encouragement.

They didn’t do the work for me. They just believed in me long enough (and still do) for me to start believing in myself.

And now Im starting to notice the little things.

My pants are looser. My permanent jewelry is falling off. Scrubbing my shower is easier. Gardening is easier.

But then you realize it’s not just the everyday things. You start doing things you didn’t realize you were missing.

I can throw a child on my shoulders and walk them wherever they want to go. I can run with the kids at youth. I can keep up, play, and actually enjoy it. When before I’d have to tap out, at like 20 years old.

You start seeing your eyes more. Your smile gets a little bigger. And you get to shop for more clothes!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼

It isn’t just about how I look anymore, it was for a long time. It’s about how I feel living my life and what I’m able to do in it.

Not every day is easy, but it’s so much easier when you have people who know you and encourage you when you’re struggling, I’m thankful I listened to my people. Are you?

So if you’ve been waiting to take care of yourself, maybe this is your reminder that there will never be a perfect time. Let this remind you that it’s not gonna be easy. Just start! You need you. by @wright.change

750 lifetime camps. 🥹

Today I went back through old and recent pictures! And when I looked at those older pictures, I saw a girl who didn’t feel very strong — physically or mentally.

But I also saw a girl who kept showing up.

A girl who was and still is learning that strength isn’t always found in feeling confident or having it all together. Sometimes strength looks like taking the next step when you’re unsure, showing up when you feel small, and trusting God to meet you there.

One of the biggest things God has shown me through this journey is that I was never meant to do hard things in my own strength. He meets me in the moments where I feel overwhelmed, reminds me who I am, and gives me the strength I didn’t know I had.

Looking back at these pictures, I don’t just see progress in my body. I see healing. I see growth. I see a God who has been faithful through every season.

750 camps later, I’m thankful for the girl who started. She didn’t know what God was going to build in her, but she kept showing up.

And He was there the whole time. ❤️ by @wright.change

Stars, Stripes & Strength. 🇺🇸
Grateful for the freedom to move,
People who make mornings like this worth showing up, (because who just wants to do the SAC?)
And those who sacrificed so we get to celebrate today. Happy Fourth! ❤️🤍💙

There is something powerful about people who just keep showing up with love.

Challie is one of many for me. 🫶🏼

The first thing I ever said to @challiegossett was “You probably don’t know my name but you will by the end of the day.” Im really thankful she did. 🤠❤️

Rise up, for her.

Level up was so so hard and I 100 percent was extremely tired so don’t judge the lack of push up there. Going through something like this has been a total mindset shift for me. I can do hard things, with 2 mins to spare! Knowing now (after the games, thank you to Jesus) that my worth isn’t defined by how slow or fast, big or small, strong or not I am, I have shown up to @burnbootcampnormanok in such a different posture.

Those athletes and coaches encouraged me in so many ways - thank you for sharing the floor with me!

LEVEL UP ⚡️🥹

When I got asked to do the Burn Games, I told them I was gonna be out of town… and they all knew I was lying.
The truth is, I didn’t feel worthy enough to do something like that for myself. I didn’t believe in myself enough to show up and finish. I didn’t think I could do it.

But I said yes anyway… out of peer pressure. Thank you Jesus. He knew I needed too, I’m so thankful I did.
Once I said yes, I decided I was going to do my best. I didn’t need to win or be the best—I just didn’t want to quit. I wanted to finish.

And I did.

But I didn’t do it alone.

I asked @isabellagrace to be my partner, and I didn’t realize how much she would show up for me—every single day.
Every day, she texted me at 4:20am to come to Burn at 5am. Even on the days I didn’t show up, she never made me feel bad. She stayed kind, patient, and steady. She’s the kind of person who gets it—who knows what you need without you saying it. I’m really grateful for her.

And Alicia and Casey… they’re more than coaches to me.
They know who I am. They’ve built a relationship with me and pushed me to be my best—not just in the gym, but outside of it too. They know how to push me, but also when I need space. That means more than I can put into words.

This wasn’t just about finishing a workout. It was about showing up for myself, doing something hard for me that wasn’t another box to check but then realizing—I wasn’t doing it alone. Stayed tuned for that story. ☺️ taken in Burn Boot Camp - Norman, OK by @wright.change

One thing I’ve learned this past week is that self-discipline is SO HARD. @alisongoodnight — one of the best humans and mom I know — reminded me that it’s not supposed to be easy, but that doesn’t mean I get to give up. Because self-discipline truly makes or breaks my future.

I haven’t been very consistent in the gym this year. I sprained my hamstring, which forced me to rest, but once it healed, that 4am wake-up call never felt easy again. Even though I could go, I didn’t. That break spiraled into losing the very things I had worked so hard for — self-love, self-confidence, positive self-talk, and my self-discipline. Not just in the gym, but everywhere else too. It led me to thoughts like “I’m not good enough,” “Why do I need to go?” “It’s not doing anything,” and “Another day won’t hurt.”

If you know me, you know I’m probably the one giving the most eye rolls and grunts to the burn coaches — the one saying “I know” while crying, because deep down, I do know what my people are trying to tell me in the hard moments. But I’m so thankful for the ones who keep saying it anyway. The ones who don’t let me forget. The ones who keep pushing me — even when I roll my eyes or grunt — because they love me enough to keep showing up for me.

@caseychristian looked at me during camp today and said something like, “Keep going,” or “You got this,” and she pointed to her head. And it clicked — it’s all mental. My body can do it all day. I just have to love myself enough to do the hard thing and build self-discipline in my mind to keep going.

Here’s to loving myself enough again — to wake up at 4am, or give up 45 minutes of my evening to move my body. To love myself enough to fuel it with what’s good. To speak life over myself. To remember that self-discipline is a practice — and to keep making it a habit.

Here’s to being a champion in my own life. 💪 by @wright.change
