The newest, and most mischievous member here. The kitten that the dog insisted we adopt. He is a busy lil boy. Full of life and vigor. Who torments the dog to no end. And Grizzly just lets him have his way.

Here are the last few days of the #threeriverschallenge for me. Pushing hard, so that I can go to work with a clear fridge - and conscience Monday.
Wednesday I made Send Off and tucked it in the fridge until I had more jars to go in the canner.
Thursday I picked up produce and started basil in the dehydrator.
Friday a triple batch of sweet relish and the pepperoncinis. Two big canners double stacked!

Today's will bleed into tomorrow afternoon/evening as I'm cooking everything today for tomato juice cocktail from the old #mennonitecommunitycookbook

Tomorrow I'll run it thru a food mill, fill jars and process. by @writerleahg

Starting the #everybitcountschallenge a few days early. This was yesterday's efforts. @garciasgardens local garlic fermenting in raw honey. Also shredded roughly 5-7 massive baseball bat size zucchini (thank you to some sweet ladies from church and @kitchen_cheryl) and put into the dehydrator.(The jar the zukes are in is a 1 gallon glass from @fillmorecontainer.) God is awesome! Blessed and honored to serve yet again at @fugenyouthcamp I first came to this camp as a camper. (For one year.) It has been my joy to be on staff there in almost every year following. (I've missed a couple.) Every year the Lord blesses it. This year there was a lot of opposition from Satan about me going to camp. But as I obeyed, the way cleared. by @writerleahg

Tomatoes in bags 2020. Planted at the end of May. In between our and the neighbor's houses. Stabbed holes into the bags before filling with broken down shredded leaves and good manure/loamy garden soil. Used my dad's homemade concrete wire tomato cages to keep them going up. And as they got tall enough I removed enough leaves off the bottom to prevent soil splash and fungal/bacterial issues on the plants. Less than 5 hours of direct sunlight. But loads of reflected light from both houses. (House oriented to east west on the longest side.) the last picture doesn't even show how much taller they got by the end of that summer. by @writerleahg

Made a freezer batch of twice baked potatoes ala @venisonfordinner s recipes on her blog. I sauteed 2 lil zucchini and loads of diced onions, added ham. added the ends of a couple blocks of cheese, a block of cream cheese, some sour cream, smoked paprika and epic amounts of black pepper to the mashed potato. I still have almost 2 quarts of the stuffing mixture, so will load those into mini loaf tins for epic loaded mashed taters. #venisonfordinnerblog #freezercooking by @writerleahg
