Get to @theargylenyc the hidden gem under @marketterestaurant

Go for the drinks and stay for the bites. Cocktails crafted by @kylexjackson and executed by Parker.
I ate the entire bar menu, but the Pholourie tasted like we were at a Guyanese spot in Queens. A well executed wing, all flats (mad about it, lol), the oysters, and roti. I had every tequila based drink and the non alcoholic cocktails.

20/10 no notes. Hospitable staff, with outstanding service. Some great wines in the list as well. I’m going back next week, because I can. by @writesbyshe

I had this pain in my left thigh for months. Told myself it was a Pilates injury. In March, I had a hip replacement. It was terrifying putting a foreign object in my body. Of course, I picked the expensive, not insurance covered device. I wanted longevity and to be able to win a bachata contest. I suffered a severe complication that led to months of depression while my company was struggling. My surgeon recognized I was having a hard time and pulled my care team around me. Although I still have till end of year for recovery, I’m committed to crushing it.

This past weekend I injured my ankle and foot on the opposite leg. I went to see a foot surgeon today and he pulled up a zoom call of all my docs. It made me cry because I didn’t expect this. Each doctor gave a plan to help me through this. The best part was hearing my doc say, your special in this practice Ikimi, we got you!

I’ve committed my life to helping others. People often forget I might need help. I’m thankful I can ask for help. Grateful for those that call and check in.

Some might say this is god trying to tell me to sit down. I beg to differ, I’ve been sitting. God said, girl get up!

I read this and it resonated. I have few friends but a few of them have been here since my teens. Many of these relationships are recently strained. It’s been a grieving process on its on. I want my friends to grow and change, I want it for myself as well. I accept that sometimes we stay still and leave relationships behind. That’s the hard part! by @writesbyshe

I shot this when our boat left Puerto Rico last night. They deserve better than being a territory with no representation. The people of Puerto Rico deserve better. I pray for their freedom and ours! by @writesbyshe
