For those of you who have picked up one of our recent releases, you’ll have noticed the cool stuff we’ve been doing with the multi-layered tape artwork. This release is no exception!

We feel it gives the releases that are really cool, sketched-vinyl look and helps them stand out from the other cassette releases out there.

We always try to keep things a little different at @catsclawrecords and add a personal touch to everything we do. So when you pick up one of our releases, we want you to feel like you’ve got something super rad in your collection.

The latest Wrong Life album ‘I Can’t Remember Where I Live’ is out now on LP, CD and digital/streaming stuff, and the cassette is up for pre-order as well. Links to all of those things are in the WL bio.

In the interest of avoiding a vague self-description littered with ‘JE M’APPELLE HELLO’s and ‘Wahoo’s, here’s a well-written blurb by Brassneck Records:

“WRONG LIFE are back with their second album, ‘I Can’t Remember Where I Live’.

When THE MURDERBURGERS split up, Wrong Life filled the void with a debut album and a handful of EPs. Impeccably structured bleak punk that perfectly captured the spirit of the ‘burger legacy but took it to new and interesting places.

This development continues apace across the ten new songs presented on album number two. From the opening song “Bones Become Glass Become Bones” the tone is set. Fraser’s lyrics tell tales of loneliness, uncertainty and a life lived in the margins, all set to a musical score that combines emo and melodic punk influences without ever falling into a specific pigeonholeable sound.

All of this is complimented by the magnificent, haunted landscape of Nige Barnes’ reimagined Edinburgh that adorns the album’s sleeve. A maze of staircases that lead to nowhere, hills too exhausting to climb and a single solitary figure existing as smoke in a world it reluctantly inhabits but cannot succeed within.”

Out today on LP, CD and digital/streaming stuff! Cassette pre-order starts today, too! HOORAY. Links for all of these are in the Wrong Life bio.

Originally self-released via the Wrong Life Bandcamp in September last year, ‘I Can’t Remember Where I Live’ is the second Wrong Life full-length, which was mixed and mastered by Ryan Perras at @districtrecording in San Jose, with artwork by @nigebarnes , drumming by @petewrightdrums from @milliemanders , and additional vocals by Max from @bike_notes and @staceysrad from @badcopbadcop . If you’ve seen us play live over the past few months, then a large chunk of the songs will have been from this album.

Big ol’ thanks to Brassneck Records, Shield Recordings, Bloated Kat Records, Waterslide Records, Cat’s Claw Records and Coffin Curse Records for putting the album out. Limited Fun Records is my sorry excuse for a label and therefore deserves no thanks whatsoever.

J’ESSAIE DE DIRE HELLO.

We did a live session at @tonegarden_studios yesterday with @cardcore on video duties and @richyneill on sound duties. It was a nice time indeed. It’ll see the light of day soon.

Before that though, ‘I Can’t Remember Where I Live’ is out on LP, CD and digital bullshit this coming Friday, aka September 4th! Digital bullshit pre-save link in bio if that’s the kind of shit you’re into, biobee. The cassette pre-order starts this coming Friday, too. What a time to technically be alive.
