EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE. I’d be honored if you ordered my book! 13.99 / 364 pages / Available in paperback and Kindle on Amazon.com or through www.aftermathpodcast.net

Howard Keir was a talented photographer on the fast track from a purely academic life in the confines of a university fine arts studio- to a successful career as an artist for high fashion magazines.

Three years later, he is an unknown short order cook at a truck stop outside of Jacksonville, Florida. Howard's days are spent tending to his abusive grandfather or visiting his only remaining friend, Ray. Long nights are manageable in smoke breaks and intimate conversation with Valery, a server struggling to pay tuition, rent and debt. Valery watches Howard's every move, longing to understand his need for absolute control over ultimate chaos.

Howard and Valery glimpse something deeper in each other- a vulnerability hidden from their closest friends.

When Howard's ex-lover Gloria re-enters his life, the once-great photographer's imagination is ignited- forcing him to relive his past and come to terms with his present. Howard turns to Valery and Ray for support but his quest for the recognition he deserves sends all three of them spiraling towards redemption or ruin.

Told in a spare style, Everything In Its Place reveals college students coming of age at the dawn of the millennium- cut adrift in a world where they must carefully balance obligation with unlimited freedom and real world temptations.

GEMS: Stories and Poems is probably my best work. This huge book includes a handful (over 500 pages) of stories and poems written and reworked between the time I was 19 and 40. I’d love it if you picked this up from Amazon in paperback or on Kindle. Share a review and let me know what you think!

CHARLIE DARWIN BY THE LOW ANTHEM

Set the sails, I feel the winds a’stirring
Towards the bright horizon set the way
Cast your reckless dreams upon our Mayflower
The haven from the world and her decay
Who could heed the words of Charlie Darwin
Fighting for a system built to fail
Spooning water from the broken vessels
As far as I can see, there is no land
Oh my god
The water’s all around us
Oh my god, it’s all around
Who could heed the words of Charlie Darwin
Lords of war just profit from decay
And trade the children’s promise for the jingle
The way we trade our hard earned time for pay
Oh my god
The water’s cold and shapeless
Oh my god, it’s all around
Oh my god
Life is cold and formless
Oh my god, it’s all around
