POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Happy to be part of the 3rd anniversary at artifly! Three beautiful years of growing as an instructor and witnessing everyone else’s journeys… I’m so proud. 🦢💛

For my performance, I became Hexxus from FernGully: The Last Rainforest (1992), performing “Toxic Love,” sung by the legendary Tim Curry. I’m vegan and care deeply about animals and the planet, so playing the villain is the opposite of who I am. That’s the point. Sometimes the best way to make people feel what’s at stake is to become what we’re fighting against. The film is still painfully relevant: deforestation, extinction, pollution, even animal testing, all driven by greed. Rest in peace, Tim Curry 🖤

Oh... hello.
You thought I was just a nineties fairy tale, didn’t you?
You watched me choke the forest and you kept feeding me. You consume, you burn, you slaughter, you erase whole species and you just keep going with your pathetic little lives.
I am every poisoned choked sky, every cleared forest, every drop of sludge you pretend not to see.
So sit back, take a breath... and let me show you how sweet the end really is.

In Loving memory of Tim Curry.

Zoos are prisons with ticket booths. Animals belong in freedom, not behind glass and cages for our entertainment.

Next time, skip the zoo and visit an accredited sanctuary instead. Real sanctuaries don’t breed, trade, or put animals on display. They give rescued animals space, care, and peace.

ABOLISH ZOOS!

We need to end the fossil fuel industry and hold the ultra-rich accountable for the climate crisis.

But here’s what you keep ignoring: animal agriculture drives ~14.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions (comparable to the entire transportation sector’s emissions). It’s also the leading driver of deforestation worldwide, clearing land for cattle and feed crops, and the major cause of loss of habitat, species extinction, water & air pollution, indigenous land rights violation, desertification, ocean dead zones, pandemics, antibiotic resistance, slave labour, etc…

And it makes zero sense from a resource standpoint: we grow massive amounts of crops just to feed to livestock, instead of feeding people directly or letting that land rewild. We slaughter ~92 billion land animals a year (trillions if we count fish), and hundreds of millions of people still go hungry. We use 77% of the world’s agricultural land to feed animals, yet these provide only 18% of the global calorie intake.

To make it worse, around 1 in 5 animals raised for food are killed and never even eaten. Lost to waste, spoilage, or overproduction. Billions of lives, for nothing.

And nobody talks about the sheer scale of suffering behind all of this. It’s genuinely shameful that this gets left out of the climate conversation entirely.

Even the water conversation is backwards. Everyone’s worried about AI’s water use right now,but animal agriculture uses roughly 100x more freshwater than all global data centers combined. We’re pointing at the wrong straw.

This isn’t a distraction from the climate fight, it’s part of it. You can’t call yourself a climate activist and leave animal agriculture off the table.

STOP IGNORING US!
