A letter to myself on World Mental Health Day🤍

For most of my life I have not only struggled with my mental health; but also my physical health. As if having PPD not once but twice wasn’t enough, I developed more health issues than ever before AFTER having my second child. The depression sunk in when the scale went all the way up to 222 and I couldn’t walk up the steps without gasping for air. It took a long time for me to take control of my health and finally make a difference. I found myself again through Pilates.

Now today, I am teaching Pilates. To women who may or may not be dealing with the same issues. What a lot of us forget is that the mind and the body are connected. And as an instructor it is my job to create a space where you feel strong, at peace, and most importantly, find yourself again. If you are feeling the same, just know I see you. I feel you. And I am here for you.

I am extremely proud of the woman I have become. We still have work to do but today I recognize the strides I have made and I have to say… I am sure as hell proud. 🙏🏼 by @xogiuls

As an instructor, it’s so important to remain a student. I love taking class every week & practicing across all apparatus. Lately, I’ve been LOVING the Cadillac. It’s only my 3rd class and I can’t wait to come back and progress even further. That’s what I love most about Pilates 🤍🤸🏻‍♀️

Plot twist: I teach Pilates now. 🤎

What started as something I did for myself turned into something that completely changed me.

In a world that can feel incredibly chaotic, Pilates became my peace. It gave me a place to quiet the noise, reconnect with myself, and transform — not just my body, but my mind and soul too.

Somewhere along the way, I found myself again.

And that became my why.

I wanted to teach because I want other people to have a place to do the same. To shut out the world for an hour. To move, breathe, get stronger, and maybe find a little piece of themselves they didn’t even realize they’d been missing.

So excited to officially be joining the beautiful @twosisterspilatesny as an instructor🦢✨

See you on the reformer Mondays & Wednesdays 9am, 10am & 11am starting 9/14✨
