Well, this resurfaced at a suspiciously convenient moment… 😁🍺

Richard is heading back to Germany this week. This particular photo is Oktoberfest circa 2008; this time the destination is Hamburg for @leatcon 26.

He’ll be joining our long-standing German distributor S.E.A. on Stand A1-D09 on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th October – catching up with customers, talking XTA & MC², and getting into the systems and projects people are working on.

"Since I was a youngster, I've always loved Sound System Culture"

Sound systems have always had their secrets, but Steve Messenger is happy to talk about how MC² became a part of his story. It's often quite a long journey from early start up days to reaching where you want to be in terms of sound, but with the right attitude you can make things happen. Embracing soundsystem culture demands true commitment, which Steve & the crew have truly shown over decades. His purpose built system drives emotion and forms the physical foundation of a community.

Steve first got in touch with Mark at MC² many years ago, after acquiring some of our E100 amplifiers previously installed at the Royal Albert Hall - he was looking for advice on setup and loudspeaker EQ. What started as a bit of technical advice became a relationship that’s continued ever since. That relationship matters to Steve. Back in the day, finding the right kit could mean travelling hundreds of miles to visit custom builders in person – getting to know the people behind it and building trust along the way.

Messenger Sound System based in Edinburgh has since become something of an institution in the Roots and Reggae scene, hosting some of its most respected acts.
Steve will be the first to say it’s been a long, hard journey getting there.

Helping people hone the setup that works for them is one of the best bits of what we do. We've worked with so many interesting people over the years, from small start-up/self-built soundsystems, to massive venues & companies - the one consistent thing is that we treat them all the same, regardless of size or budget.

Steve sent us some great pics of the system & crew and a cool video from a recent session. Hearing where all those years of work have led is pretty special. 🙌

Looking back at some of the projects we’ve been involved with over the years is always good fun – and this one still makes us smile, not least Richard, who was on board for the commissioning voyage. 🚢

Back in 2015, Richard spent some time aboard Mein Schiff 3 on a commissioning trip from Lanzarote to Lisbon, working with the TUI Cruises team on a pretty serious collection of audio systems.

With around 2,500 passengers to entertain, there was a lot of ground to cover: theatre, concert hall, cinema, nightclub, Show Bar and pool deck amongst them – with XTA processing and MC² amplification working across the ship.

In the theatre, multiple XTA DC1048 processors drove MC² Ti amplifiers, all controlled and monitored from FOH. Elsewhere, DC1048s handled routing, system tuning and loudspeaker management, including the alarm mode needed to hand control over to the ship’s PAVA system when required.

It was part of a long-running collaboration between @meinschiffofficial, @martinaudio, @digico.official, our German distributor and XTA & @mc2audio. by @xta_mc2

Earlier this year, RMPA invested in an XTA MX36 Console Switcher ahead of @sunshinefestival anticipating that visiting acts might arrive with their own production.

Sure enough, for the final act of the festival, a Midas M32C originally brought along for IEMs ended up being used as the band's FOH console.

Three analogue lines from stage were patched into the MX36 B input, converted to Dante and smoothly switched into the system – allowing the crew to start de-rigging FOH while the final act was still underway.

A neat solution, a quicker get-out after a long festival and, in RMPA's words, a system that performed “flawlessly”. Result! 🙌

For an electronic music festival recognised for its production standards, we deployed a Funktion-One system comprising:

The EVO 6E provides clear projection, controlled directivity and accurate full-range reproduction, preserving detail and musical energy across a large-scale venue.

Mark and Alex are taking to the skies next week. Destination: @cediaexpo 2026, Denver, Colorado. 🇺🇸

Joined by our good friends Dave and Mica from @global_av_sales_rep, they’ll be teaming up with our MC² USA partner @playbackdistribution as they build and configure not one, but two state-of-the-art, high-definition cinema demo rooms.

Curated by @krixsound (Australia) and @pmcspeakers (UK), the two rooms will bring together some serious kit from brands including @trinnov, @kordzglobal, Defining Cinemas Seating & @kaleidescapeinc, alongside our flagship @mc2audio I-Series and Delta-X amplification. 🎬🔊

We're very pleased to welcome Stuart Down back to the team – although for many of us, introductions aren't really necessary.

Having started out as a sound engineer before building a career across the pro audio industry, Stuart knows the products, the people and the world they work in exceptionally well. In fact, his connection with XTA goes right back to early in his career, making this something of a full-circle moment.

This time around, he'll be working with the team on commercial strategy and future product roadmaps, while spending plenty of time doing what he does best – getting out there, reconnecting with customers, partners and distributors, understanding where the opportunities are and making sure they have the support to pursue them.

One of our OEM partners, @auraaudio.fi, shared these shots from @downbythelaituri Festival in Turku, Finland.

The stage and technical production is provided by AMJ Turku Audio Oy for festivals promoted by United Festivals, with the same system travelling across 11 events each season covering everything from pop and hip-hop to hard rock.

Behind the scenes, two amplifier racks housing XTA D100DSP, D80 and D120 amplifiers, with Globcon running from the FOH PC via Dante Controller, kept everything under control. 👌

Out front, 12 × S2s and 4 × S28Cs per side, supported by around 12 × S28 cardioid subs, were delivering to this crowd of around 10,000 festival goers. 🤘

Over the weekend, Celestion's new TSQ drivers and patented LensGuide™ technology made an appearance at @rc1.sound.system's Bristol Sound Check, with their dual TSQ2460 24-inch subwoofers being put through their paces in front of a crowd that knows a thing or two about sound systems. 👌

Powered by XTA DNA120 amplification for the 24-inch subs, XTA DPA100 amplification for the 18s, mid and high frequencies, and XTA DP448 processing, it was a great opportunity to see the complete XTA/MC² processing and amplification ecosystem supporting Celestion's latest loudspeaker technology.

We've been supplying XTA/@mc2audio processing and amplification to @celestionuk for many years across R&D, production and demonstrations, so it's always great to see new developments move into real-world environments.

Now, as these new technologies begin to make their way into the hands of loudspeaker manufacturers for evaluation, we strongly suspect you'll be hearing more big sounds and big news from here on. 🙌
