I won a Dove Award!!!!
I’ve been pinching myself since Tuesday night when I received the news. It’s now public so I want to share just a few of the things I’ve been thinking about since receiving this honor from my industry peers.

I’ve been making music for 27 years…and for ALL of those I’ve been an independent artist. If I’m honest, I’ve never felt the burden of what that means more than I have in the last 18 months. As someone put it when I won my first Dove, it’s a real “David vs. Goliath” situation. To be nominated again and win for the second time is the sweetest gift from God. Fully aware it takes industry peers to make this happen, I have realized how many friends I’ve made over the years I’m thankful for the people I’ve met as God has ordered my steps. In winning, I’ve understood how much these trophies were my childhood dream. Along the way I had made peace that it wasn’t really possible for me and where God had me. But, isn’t it just like God, to have us be on mission for Him and in the process make a way to bestow something as earthly as a title and trophy on us? Simply because He knows it will make us smile. After all He is a Father that gives good gifts. Thank You Abba!

Alright, the AMAZING adventure I got to take the boys with me for yesterday was the World Premiere of the “ALL IN VBS” by @dudeperfect and Amazing Life (@orangekidmin @amazingleadership )
Today is the official release day of this VBS curriculum that is more than just a curriculum. It’s a culture current tool that is going to connect with your kids in such a special way. @rhythm_gold was locked in to the video pieces. When I think of how this is going to build the Kingdom and Church my heart swells. 🥹
Dude Perfect is not afraid to use their platform to tell this world about their faith and that’s exactly what will happen through this #AmazingVBS —you must go check it out.
Last night’s event was at the Dude Perfect HQ. We got to hang and play in the space where they create the videos your kids watch every day! I have so much more to share with you about this ALL IN VBS that will be a culture connecting, disciple making tool 🤯 but first I need to fly home to Nashville.

Oh happy day. Today our 100th episode dropped. 🎉💯🎉💯WHAT? We can’t even believe what the last almost two years has represented in these conversations with PK’s, MK’s and ministry leader kids. Episode 100: Ministry is the Mistress with Stacy Joy Hanna is a very special conversation.

We first found @stacyjoyofficial on instagram talking about her life as a pastor’s wife and PK. We knew we had to sit down with her to talk about all the things in church life and this conversation did not disappoint. Stacy is someone that completely gets the heart and intention of why we are having these conversations. She was such an encouragement to us in the studio to encourage us to stay on mission in this work. Here’s a few mic drops she shared:
* The pastor’s kids are sinful, and sometimes not even saved yet.
* A lot of pastors are people pleasers.
* Our home would run the same whether we were a pastor’s family or not.
* There’s a difference between not going to church and hating the church.

I can’t stop thinking about her…
The tears streaming down her face.
The fact that she felt seen.
I thank God that He burdened my heart so I would see her. She’s not the only one. I’m motivated to not let PK’s feel alone. We have work to do. Keep listening! Support this mission to see PK’s and build a healthier Church!

Minneapolis, what a fun and fire-filled week it was @scmsummit — I’m on an airplane with a full heart. What a special week it was —I got to lead worship each morning of the conference…and then teach three breakouts. People were so receptive to what I had to share, catching the vision for kids worship. I’ll never forget a few PK’s I met. One young adult stood in front of me with tears streaming down her face, telling me she had never felt more seen. I’m in the middle of pioneering territory I call @stainedglasskids —it’s hard ground but only because it is SO thirsty.

This week I was surrounded by people that I’ve known for the last 34-40 years. That brought many feelings but the one I want to shout about is faithfulness. People who didn’t quit. Faithful servants who still are dreaming and walking in obedience. What examples they are.

I took @rhythm_gold along with me. When I was about his same age @marharps @debra.harper.378 gave me and my sister a gift basket that impacted me and I’ve never forgotten it. You bet I teared up when the same gesture was given to Rhythm.

There is no junior Holy Spirit. 🔥 God has been and will faithful to every generation. What a special few days it’s been. I’m grateful for my family, our story and the legacy I get to steward and honor. The story is still being written.

David just lost his son. And instead of falling apart, he got up, washed his face, changed his clothes, and went to worship.

No spiral into a tub of ice cream. No three days in bed. No venting it all out online. Just a straight walk into the sanctuary.

Yancy says this passage convicts her every time she reads it. It’s not about pretending the pain isn’t real. It’s about training a reflex, a muscle that turns toward worship even in the hardest moments.

What does Yancy notice most while leading worship at True Girl Live events?

Moms and daughters, side by side, arms up, sometimes catching each other’s eyes mid-song.

She calls music a gift with amazing staying power. Those same songs get sung again weeks and months later, and each time they do, the memory comes flooding back, the night mom cleared her schedule just to be there.

It’s a ripple effect. The truth of that moment gets repeated in their minds every time the song plays again.
