Life lately…

a little catch-up after a few quiet months on here 🤍

The biggest surprise of this year? Getting engaged to George in Menorca. 💍 We’d fallen in love with the island the year before, and this time he surprised me by proposing on a beautiful cliff overlooking the sea. And there I was, wearing my bucket hat, completely unaware of what he was planning. 😂

When he asked me to marry him, my first answer was “Oh, sure!” I was so surprised I actually had to ask, “Did you really just propose?” So he got back down on one knee and asked again. And this time, I said YES. 💍

He’d bought the sweetest little crab ring with a bright blue stone in Menorca. We spent the rest of the day exploring, before heading back to Mahón for sunset, wandering the little streets we remembered from our first trip and stopping for celebratory drinks. It was so perfectly us.

There’s been a lot happening at home, too. Since the end of February, I’ve stuck to two PT sessions a week with my wonderful Gill. 💪🫶🏼

I promised myself this would be the year I’d feel my fittest, and I’m honestly so proud of myself for keeping that promise and showing up. 🤍

And then there’s @yeahdaysuk ☀️ What started with an idea and a handmade gift for a friend has become my own little business.

Around five months in, five markets done and more than 70 totes made, including gifts for people I love.

Two weeks ago, I even welcomed my first helper, who comes in to help me with prep. Such a big milestone for my little business. 🥹

Now there are new fabrics, new designs and Christmas markets to get ready for. Lots of sewing ahead, and so much to look forward to.

Building something of my own takes so much dedication, but knowing someone chooses something I’ve made with my own two hands… that feeling still gets me every time.

Some days leave your heart a little fuller 🤍

My lovely friends Asil and Lucy came to visit me at Ascot Farmers Market today to wish me luck, cheer me on and pick out something special for themselves. Having them there meant so much to me. 🫶🏼

Asil, even brought along one of the very first totes I made, which I gifted her for her wedding. Hearing that she still uses it every day was such a lovely reminder of why I love making these pieces. 🥹

But the loveliest part of today was spending a little time with these two. @heyits_asil 🤍 @luciecornwelllee thank you for showing up for me and making me feel so loved and supported. So grateful to have you both in my life 🤍

A sleepover, a game of darts and a little engagement celebration 💛🥂

George’s school friends came to stay and brought us champagne and a beautiful bouquet to celebrate our engagement. Such a lovely evening together, and George’s happy little face says it all 🥹

They also each bought a tote for their mum, which was so thoughtful. I wish I’d recorded them looking through the bags and chatting about all the details—their kind words about something I’ve made honestly warmed my heart.

And of course, I sent them home with homemade grape jam too. Apparently making things is my love language 😂🍇

Time with friends, thoughtful little gestures and a very full heart. More weekends like this, please.
