Yip Pin Xiu fought HARD to claim gold 🥇in the women’s 50m backstroke S2, making Singapore so proud! 🇸🇬

The atmosphere at the OCBC Aquatic Centre was amazing, with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam in the stands to witness the moment! ✨🔥

Some titles are won in the water. Some are given for what you do beyond it. Humbled to be conferred Doctor of the University by the @uofglasgow. 🎓

Once again so grateful for everyone who has been on this journey with me. 🫶🏼 by @yippinxiu

Dr. x2. Still not qualified to treat anything but the university people tell me that’s alright ☺️

Receiving one honorary doctorate is a privilege. Receiving a second in the same year is something I can only be thankful for. Thank you, University of Glasgow, and everyone who made this possible. by @yippinxiu

One of the most extraordinary people I’ve ever met.

Yip Pin Xiu.

Seven-time Paralympic gold medalist,
seven-time World Champion, two world records , a stint as an MP, a few board positions and she still wants more.

At the age of 34, she’s still thinking about the next race, the next Olympics, the next medal.

Still humble… but she’s still a Singapore icon.

Have a listen to our MONEY FM 89.3 conversation 😉
