About 5 years ago I binged watched โ€˜How I met your Motherโ€™ and @NPH was one of my favorite actors on the show - such a talent. I thought to myself I would love to create some beautiful portraits of him one day and a couple of months ago I did! He was just as creative and easy to work with as I thought he would be, and I love how he is so into magic and whimsical concepts, just like I am. Inspired by the growing wealth disparity and economic issues in the US, designer SJ Levin brings a sense of revolution to life with her five-look mini-collection, "Let Them Eat The Rich," . Created between 2018 and 2020, the project builds a sharp contrast between the lavish indulgence of Marie Antoinette and the raw edge of punk aesthetics. Levin pattern-drafted, constructed, and styled the entire collection using sustainable practices, sourcing 90% of materials from NYCโ€™s FabScrap, upcycled garments, and local small businesses. Pov: your visuals are so important to building your personal brand, but you also really hate being in front of the camera. What a milestone!! ๐Ÿ“ธโค๏ธ I had a really bad experience as a teenager during a photoshoot that made me want to hide I carried that anxiety for many years. And itโ€™s a bit weird, because filming myself feels fine, but I freak out the minute someone is on the other side of the lense. Photoshoots are so exposing. Lol I shrink into myself and become everything but myself.๐Ÿ˜… But!!! when you build a personal brand (or really, anything), nothing happens if you stay in your comfort zone. Soooo voila. I did the thing and finally updated my headshots! But I did things differently this time ;) and worked with badass women @ylvaerevall @kc_beautyandskin that I respect, admire and most importantlty trust!! this was a huge milestone for me.๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿฅฐ Feels good to finally face something that gives you a lot of anxiety and it actually feeling different Will be dropping the full story on how I overcame my fears, and what shifted for me. So Stay tuned. But what I can share with you now: Weโ€™re putting together an irl workshop for women in LA on personal branding in April.
