#tbt 25th Anniversary for the NSLA…Not All Rescues are life or death. Some are caused by a little change in conditions, loss of equipment … and many are just preventative actions that were missed..I (temporarily maybe)transitioned from @northshorelifeguardassociation with 311 of em ( ya..I kept track from day one after @centaurhawaii told me he wished he had) and I’d say that’s about an average or even below average number. The legends that came before me had more due to less resources and less staffing I’m pretty sure. So this photo represents somewhere right around 10,000 ocean rescues. They all don’t get awards ceremonies, news coverage, or insta reels… but they all made what was somebody’s worst day.. end in a positive way. Lifeguards aren’t paid for what they do Everyday..but for what they/we are willing to do for Anyone on Anyday..which is just about Anything. There is no better feeling than saving a life. So if you come across a lifeguard with any experience at all and he or she seems a lil “cocky”… that’s not what it is.. it’s a Karmic Confidence that comes with having paid it forward far more than could ever be paid back. Watching these guys have to perform in really weak waves to save their careers is a tough watch. A few weeks ago some of em were in Fiji and Tahiti surfing the best waves of their lives with the top athletes in the “sport”. My idea is to streamline the Challenger Series… after they all qualify in their own region.. fly em to one stretch of coast… have 3 or 4 events… get in over with and then they can get on with their lives….Sponsors used to pay for all this travel.. but now surfing is mostly a Parent Sponsorship:) taken in Purgatory by @yogapaul

An experiment and way to kill some time during Delilah’s Surf Life Saving Comp…Has turned into a PURSUIT……good people .. healthy fun..gonna need a board and petrol sponsor.

Yes I’ve got several good friends who are fans of these silent motorcycles that have almost run my kids over on the Waialua bike path and the Townsville Strand.. but this is the best E-Bike video I’ve seen yet:) taken in Electric Avenue by @yogapaul

As life blazes ahead at full steam I Always am reminded how lucky I am to miss people and places… that just means they were good to us..808/831 … yup .. we’re doing stuff, moving forward, and having fun.. but ..
