A lot of conversations since 2023 from podcasts, calls, messages and for the last couple of years we’ve talked about somehow getting her over to the UK to speak.

So finally getting to meet @athenamariebt properly at @coachescongress.official has been a long time coming.

I think I can speak for both Jake and myself when I say Athena has made us better coaches.

She’s made us think differently, ask better questions and challenge some of the things we thought we knew.

That’s one of the biggest reasons I love things like Coaches Congress.

Put yourself in the rooms.

Have conversations with people who know more than you.

Be curious

We’ve stood beside each other at plenty of weddings over the years.

But this one was always going to be different.

After 30 years of friendship, I finally got to stand beside my best mate @mashinater on his wedding day as his best man.

Lisbon last week for Matthew’s stag do.

I turn 40 next month and I’ve known Mash since we were about 8 or 9 years old, so we’re now pushing well over 30 years of friendship.

Some of the boys in this photo I’ve known since I was in nursery, Others for more than 20 years, and a few are more recent additions to the group.

The majority of us don’t get to see each other nearly as much as we used to.

Some of us hadn’t been in the same room together for years.

But nothing had changed.

After the last six months, this trip was exactly what I needed.

It reminded me how important it is to have a proper group of friends around you. The kind where time can pass, life can get busy, and you can all go in different directions, but when you’re back together it feels like no time has passed at all.

I came home feeling incredibly fortunate to have these boys in my life.

An unbelievable few days for one of my oldest and best friends.

Can’t wait to have everyone back together for the wedding in a few weeks. by @yonclark86

Social media has convinced me some of you wouldn’t cope with real stress, and not just the trivial stuff I see everyone complaining about on IG.

I get that everyone’s problems are relative to them, and we all experience life differently.

But some people genuinely need to get a grip.

Not every inconvenience is trauma.

Not every bad day is a crisis.

Not every obstacle requires a public meltdown.

Sometimes you just need to crack on and deal with it.
