I listened to 64% more music this year versus last year. That alone should tell you how much my mindset has improved. MIND OVER MATTER. You are a direct result of your thoughts and how and where you spend your energy. I spent so much time getting back to my old self this year … hustling, grinding, and putting in the fucking WORK.

I listened to 10,000+ minutes of @sleep_token #eveninarcadia #takemebacktoeden busting my fucking ass in the gym and obviously any time I had music playing 🤣

I listened to @snowthaproduct on REPEAT and played Nights more than any other song this year - 225 times

And @thehometeam and #thecrucibleoflife was my top 3 artists and albums who I also listened to in almost every gym session and got me wanting to dance again!

Music is everything. And sometimes it’s hard to discover something new or different or be vulnerable and let new artists in. But trust me it’s worth it. Find music that speaks to you and helps guide you through. Find inspiration from artists that have focus and direction so that it helps fuel your soul.

2.5 years of consistency and learning to love and like myself. Although I just recently got serious with the gym I’m absolutely hooked and can’t wait to see another year from now what my results will be.

First picture January 2024 (6 months into #wegovy)
Second picture June 2025 (the start of my gym journey - truly this time)

Doing this is a mental mind fuck and it takes a lot of time and energy. It’s physically mentally and emotionally draining. You have to choose yourself. Which I’ve never been good at doing. But something changed in me a few years ago.

Also people treat you like shit when you’re overweight. For no reason. And it’s weird coming through to the other side and just how differently I’m approached by people now. It’s awesome and it hurts at the same time.

Also something cool - when I decided to start going to the gym I started listening to new music too and my top 3 artists (that I listen to every time I work out) have been @sleep_token @badomensofficial @thehometeam and I’ve been finding my love of music again and going to see live music is just everything. I saw #sleeptoken in September. I’m seeing #thehometeam in a few weeks. I’m going to see #badomens next year.

Make shit happen.

My life lately has been just completely immersed in re-self discovery. I spent my entire summer working on routinely adding the gym to my life and it’s crazy the physical, emotional, and mental change it can have over you and I’ve only just begun. The next few months are my favorite time of the year and I’ve got some getaways and concerts in the works and I can’t wait to give myself the reward of all my hard work finally starting to pay off. Not just in weight loss but overall.

Back when I was a lil kid we used to play this game called Hwa Tu (although we always called it Hot Too - also known as Go Stop and meaning flower battle/flower fight). We used to visit my grandparents on my dad’s side in Ohio and we’d always play and “gamble” with coins. The deck of cards has 12 different suits each representing a month of the year and this card represents December. The symbol on the card is actually Chinese and it means “Bright” and it’s one of the five ‘trump’ cards of the deck. The December suit also known as Rain (bi) or Willow is the only card and set of cards containing all 4 types of card within the deck which are gwang (bright), ribbon, animal, and junk. And of course the animal in my picture is a frog which makes me love it even more. And since I’ve always been a lil obsessed with myself 🤪 of course it was my favorite card since I’m a December baby. My uncles first wife was my Aunt Yei and she was such a nice and cool person to know. She used to teach me words in Korean and I remember leaving my notes in my favorite tree of the house we moved out of - the last house we lived in as a whole family. I left them tucked away for someone else to find if they ever climbed that tree. She ended up passing away from a bee sting in 2003. I used to have our original deck of cards with handwritten instructions from my grandmother but I was never good at holding onto things in my young adult life so of course they were lost. I’ve wanted this tattoo ever since I first started getting tattoos and I finally got it last weekend! It represents me and my family and that’s why I placed it next to my sunflower for my dad. I gotta thank @nihilfemina for doing this for me! I love it and can’t wait for more!
