A forest fairy & a witch frolic through the woods at ye old renaissance fest & it turns out they’re both decent at drinking mead and throwing knives by @yountzee
✨been meaning to post this for a while, now✨ This was the year I decided to crash my parents’ annual friend vacation to Outer Banks, NC and I wish I did it sooner. We started the trip off by exploring the Appalachian hills, primarily Blue Ridge Parkway— the Mountain View’s were so beautiful & there was one peak so tall that sun sets in its valley 30 minutes before it sets over the horizon. The rental house they use is 8 minute walk to the beach so we spent (almost) every sunrise and sunset outside oceanfront. My parents took me to the best bagel shop I’ve ever been to (lighthouse bagels, imy) we also checked out a few lighthouses, one had been moved a couple hundred feet from the coast line because the ground had been crumbling into the ocean, one was small, and one was held up by me for a photo op. We also visited the Wright Brothers monument, where they “flew” for the first time, but the most of our time together was spent by the water or eating locally or at the house! I don’t eat fish very often because I’m a freak about eating seafood in a landlocked state most times, but if I’m by the water I will be enjoying whatever is locally caught every time. Lots of shopping trips, laughs, and memories were made over these 10 days. I am grateful to have spent time in the sun and water with my mom & dad as we’ve been dealing with grief heavily this year. We were able to decompress and enjoy our time together without thinking of what’s happened and what’s to come. If this ends up being the last vacation I have with my mom, then it was a good one, but I always hope there’s more time. 9/4-9/14/2026 by @yountzee
Already posted the dump, but I made a little tikkie tokkie as well 👹#furnacefest by @yountzee
Luke, Madison & I roadtripped to Birmingham, AL to attend Furnace Fest at Sloss Furnaces over the weekend! Our first day was filled with rain from the hurricane, but that didn’t stop us from being outside. Day two was hot & packed and we were joined by some of Luke’s homies (it was very exciting to meet them and to see Tony & Hath again) we got a little sunburnt but it was worth it to experience 20th anniversary of Count Your Blessings. I had so much fun playing dress up, spending time with my friends, and listening to some angry ass music!! Spite was my favorite set of the weekend I cannot lie. by @yountzee

August was a lot of fun! I spent a little time outside when it wasn’t a million degrees, spent time with Emily and my mom. Laura finished another few rounds of chemo and has been taking it with grace. Spent time with my super awesome cutie boyfriend at a few birthday parties. Abbi came to town for Hang Your Hate. Went to Augusta to celebrate Molly’s thirtieth with lots of wine and laughter. That same weekend i surprised my mom with a secret photoshoot. Made some magical snacks for vacation that were so yummy. Had tea with Jamie and caught up a bit. by @yountzee
It was recommended by my friend Sami to take some pictures with my mom before too much changes for us. I reached out to Ashley about helping us do a shoot & she set up a perfect day for me & my mom. Ashely reached out to our friend Carleigh to use her studio and have her capture the moment & my cousin Madi to do our hair & makeup. The whole event was a surprise for Laura, as I have only asked her in passing if she’d like to take pictures with me. Ashely surprised us both with Carleigh & Madi doing our makeup. This has been one of my favorite days as of late— spending precious time with my mom and some amazing and caring friends who made us feel beautiful. I will be able to hold on to these photos with me forever, even after our time together has ended, to remind myself of the love and laughter we have shared. What a whirlwind of a month. I started a new job after 10 years drowning in sandwich town as a Nesting System Operator. Spent some good time outside with my friends, at the pool & in the woods. Spent a lot of time with my mom, ate a lot of Gooseberries, went to a few shows, and traveled to Columbia / Kirksville to see two of my besties. This month I also lost my last remaining grandparent, my paternal grandfather finally entered eternal rest after 94 years. Not even a week after, my mom was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer and was given a prognosis of one year with treatment— my world stopped when I learned this, my best friend, my rock, my person. I am nowhere near ready to say farewell to her so I have hopeful for treatment to give us more time& less pain for her. by @yountzee
June was AMAZING! Baseball games, concert in KS w Madison Place, Socrates escaped for 12 hours, spent lots of time with friends, went to Kirksville for some much needed time with Ashley, went solo to see Tiger’s Jaw, saw my favorite bands, went to Indy to see family, quit my job (!!!!), went to Springfield with Gavin for Wyatt & Amber’s wedding, celebrated my 29th birthday for a whole weekend with my friends, started a new job at Servco as a laser programmer, and started dating a cutie core kid. Concerts: 3 (Spite, Tiger’s Jaw, DGD) Tattoos: one Most played song: The Summoning by Sleeptoken by @yountzee
I had the pleasure of seeing two of my favorite bands with four of my favorite people last Saturday!! @wolfandbearband & @dancegavindance Second time seeing W&B, third (?) time seeing DGD, made Blair a special bday card, bought two new shirts, lost Luke in the pit (& he lost his glasses, they got trampled but I found them after the show—rip) I’m so lucky to share my love of live music with the sickest people 👹 by @yountzee
Kirksville trip to see my best friend for much needed girl time. We toured the Dancing Rabbit commune & got a small glimpse into life basically off -grid. I learned so much about sustainable living & left for a deeper appreciation for Mother Earth & my community. We also enjoyed some sandwiches out of a woman’s trunk & some interesting clarified milk type lavender kombucha(idk what it was but it was fire). Ofc we had to get sushi (even tho I threw it up bc BK breakfast sandwich gave me food poisoning!!) The next day we shared brunch at the Thousand Hills beach & soaked up some sun. One of my favorite parks, with one of my favorite people. I am so grateful to have Ashley in my life— she has seen me through highs & lows and has always been a steady presence. Lots of changes happening for both of us, but I’m glad to experience that with her. by @yountzee
