💙 We are looking for a child with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), together with their parent or caregiver, to take part in an upcoming Health Education webinar.

The aim is to give families an opportunity to share their lived experience of DCD — helping others better understand the everyday challenges, strengths and experiences of children with DCD.

By sharing your story, you can help:
• Raise awareness and understanding of DCD
• Give a voice to children and families with lived experience
• Support parents, educators and healthcare professionals to better understand DCD
• Help other families feel seen, understood and supported

The child would be interviewed alongside their parent or caregiver in a supportive and respectful setting.

We educate the future of healthcare.
But our responsibility extends beyond clinical competence.
We have a responsibility to nurture professionals who value dignity, safety, respect and human life.
We stand against gender-based violence and femicide.
We stand with those whose lives have been lost, those who have survived, and those who continue to live in fear.
As educators, clinicians and future health professionals, silence cannot be part of our professional identity.
We teach care. We practise care. We must also stand for care.
For our students.
For our communities.
For the generations that come after us.

Somewhere between the questioning, the feedback, the “but WHY?” 😂, the difficult days and the little breakthroughs… they stop being just students.

You start watching them find their voices, trust their reasoning, advocate for their patients and slowly become clinicians in their own right.
Teaching them is the job.

Caring about who they become is the heart of it. ❤️
And perhaps that is one of the greatest privileges of being a clinical educator: knowing that long after the block ends, you’ll still be somewhere in the background, quietly cheering them on.

You’ve been running this marathon for YEARS.

The early mornings.
The late nights.
The clinics.
The assessments.
The “why did I choose physio?” moments. 😂
The patients who taught you more than any textbook ever could.

And now…

THE LAST STRETCH IS HERE.

One final block.
One final push.
One final opportunity to bring together everything you’ve learned, questioned, struggled through and grown into.

At this point, it’s not just about passing another block.

You are becoming the physiotherapist. 🧠🩺

So dig deep. Back yourself. Support each other. Ask the questions. Think aloud. Learn from every patient.

The finish line is getting VERY real. 🎓

This one has been sitting with me. 🖤

We celebrate graduation photos, new jobs, first salaries and professional milestones. But we don't always see what sits behind them.

For many young Black professionals, the first salary isn't simply the beginning of financial independence. It may be supporting a household, helping parents or siblings, paying outstanding university fees, and trying to build a future at the same time.

And yet, they keep going.

There is something incredibly powerful about watching someone finally clear those fees and walk across that graduation stage months after they have already started working.

That gown carries a story.

A story of responsibility. Sacrifice. Ubuntu. Family. And possibility.

Super flipping proud of our people. 🖤🎓

And maybe the question we should sit with is:

When we celebrate the achievement, do we also acknowledge how unequal the journey to get there was? by @yourfavce

Somewhere between “I don’t know” and “no further comments”… there’s a whole lot of reading, writing, questioning, deleting, rewriting and learning. 😂📚

This thesis has taught me that I don’t need to have all the answers. I just need to be willing to keep looking for them.

And somewhere in every draft has been Heather, my voice of reason 😂🤍

The one who somehow knows when to challenge me, when to redirect me, and when to remind me that I actually do know what I’m doing.

I genuinely could not have asked for a better supervisor to walk this journey with me.

Now we keep going…
