The Jaunt × PARKIM present,
힘 at Realation Space, Seoul

힘, pronounced “him,” means strength in Korean - a fitting title for this group exhibition of female artists and designers whose bold creativity and vision expand contemporary visual culture.

Their works embody both power and sensitivity - revealing strength not only as force or resistance, but as persistence, intuition, and care.

Meet Jeroen Smeets, the founder and curator of The Jaunt.

Back in 2013, Jeroen Smeets founded The Jaunt and he acts as the project’s curator and travel planner. With a background in art ranging from Editor-In-Chief to agent and gallery owner – and a variety of jobs in between – Jeroen started The Jaunt after talking to artists and hearing their repeated desire to travel the world and find new experiences that would enrich their creative process. With The Jaunt he has found a way to fulfil their dreams.

Last week I was out in Hong Kong to present The Jaunt (@thejaunt) at HK Walls (@hkwalls) during the Hong Kong art week. Bringing a selection of prints from The Jaunt Print Archive as well as original works by Wasted Rita (@wastedrita), Bisco Smith(@biscosmith), and Seth Pimentel (@african_ginger).

A pleasure to connect with new people, introduce The Jaunt to Hong Kong, and meet new artists along the way. Thanks to everybody I met along the way, the HK Walls people, the fellow Dutch people, and all the other artists and galleries.

Two weeks ago I was in Philadelphia for the the exhibition ‘Ode to Kyoto’ from the always amazing Lisa Congdon (@lisacongdon), organized by The Jaunt (@thejaunt) and hosted by the great people of Paradigm Gallery (@paradigmgs).

Earlier this year Lisa Congdon traveled to Kyoto, after she was originally going to travel there in 2020, but as we all know the world had other plans and we had to wait. Finally, in March of this year, Lisa was able to go and become inspired by this historic and cultural Japanese city.

The trip and her new found inspiration formed the basis for her exhibition featuring original paintings, screenprinted works on fabric and limited edition prints.

The exhibition was hosted by Paradigm Gallery in Philadelphia, marking the third collaborational exhibition between The Jaunt and Paradigm. ❤️

The exhibition is open for one more week until the 29th of October. Additionally you can find all the work online. Send a message if you’d like to see the exhibition catalogue.

Thanks to Lisa Congdon and Paradigm Gallery 🙏🏼❤️
