📌 FLOATING BREAKFAST IN ZANZIBAR FROM $10🇹🇿✨

Booking a floating breakfast doesn’t need to be expensive! I had this gorgeous floating breakfast at the @baladin.zanzibar a gorgeous boutique hotel in the eastern edge of Zanzibar. 😍 Their floating breakfast is just $10pp and you can add a bottle of bubbly for $20 which I did as I was celebrating a birthday 🥳

5 useful tips you should consider when you plan your trip to Zanzibar 🇹🇿✨

📌Stay in more than one location 🗺️

I’d recommend staying in more than one location if you can. There are 5 main regions on the island and it’s a great way to see what each area offers. I stayed in Nungwi for a couple of days, then in Pingwe located in the Eastern region and finally Stonetown for the final 2 nights of my stay. Another reason is to save time travelling from one place to another and can be quite expensive.
Stonetown is a great place to start or end your trip as it’s close to the airport

📌Rainy season ⛈️
The long rainy season starts from Mid-March and last up to May. I visited during March and it did rain quite a bit whilst I was there which I didn’t mind too much but something to note however it’s also a cheaper time to visit and less crowded as it’s low season. November - December is also short rain season

📌Check the tide times 🌊

You’ll want to plan any planned beach activities around the tide. Zanzibar really experiences noticeable tidal fluctuations so it’s handy to know what times low/high tides are expected - I used https://www.tide-forecast.com/

✨The northern coast experiences minor tidal effects

📌Don’t prebook all your activities 🐬
I normally tend to do this when I travel especially sold but here it’s best to wait until you’re there to book as you could get it for cheaper.

📌There are very few ATMs so make sure you have cash and there is a fee for withdrawing which varies depending on which ATM you use. Whilst cards are accepted in a number of places it’s worth noting that the handling fee usually between 3-5% is passed on to the customer each time you pay by card at most places.

The start of the semester has been a busy one, so quick dinners are definitely needed! 🌱 Here are two dishes I made this week with @cauldronfoods :

🥙 Mezze board
Cauldron Moroccan Falafels + Cauldron Express Oregano & Thyme Grillable Tofu. The falafels were honestly so delicious and flavourful and the tofu was really nice too.

🍜 Tofu vermicelli stir-fry
Cauldron Express Teriyaki Tofu pieces. Another really easy and tasty dinner.

Proof that plant-based meals definitely don’t have to be boring! 💚

A beautiful Mother’s Day afternoon tea in Mayfair that felt perfect for a special occasion…

This was a gorgeous Mother’s Day afternoon tea in March, which is also my birthday month, so it was a doubly special occasion. I went with my friend, who’s a new mama, along with her family for a really lovely, celebratory afternoon.

Set in the Promenade, it’s exactly what you’d expect, elegant, classic, and very refined in style.

I’m definitely a savoury person when it comes to afternoon tea, so sandwiches are always my favourite part, and this one was no exception.
I particularly enjoyed the smoked salmon and roast chicken.

The pastries were delicate and beautifully presented, with a light, seasonal feel that suited the occasion perfectly.

There was also a gorgeous floral cart with the loveliest cupcakes, they were incredibly light, moist, and genuinely delicious.

Overall, it was a really enjoyable and elegant afternoon tea, perfect for a special celebration like Mother’s Day. Afternoon tea menu taken in The Dorchester by @yoursbrunchly

This afternoon tea at @roast_restaurant in London Bridge was back in February with the lovely @alli.n.eats and @hazeleatsout 💕 the restaurant itself is so gorgeous the decor alone makes it feel like a proper experience.

We went for the standard afternoon tea with tea included, which was around £59, making it a much more affordable option compared to traditional classic afternoon teas in London.

The sandwich selection was definitely the highlight for me. There was a bridge roll with pulled pork ⭐️, a smoked salmon option, and a roast beef roll

They also had a really strong hot savoury section, including a pork scotch egg, beef croquette, and a sausage roll. The sausage roll in particular was excellent 👌🏾.

The desserts were a bit more mixed for me. I didn’t fully love the rose mousse, but I did enjoy the caramelised honey cream with orange and ginger. The coconut and passion fruit cheesecake was also pleasant, and the scones were solid as expected.

It’s worth noting this isn’t your typical traditional classic afternoon tea setup, if you like more savoury (which I do) this is for you!

That said, I really enjoyed the experience overall. The venue is stunning, the food is generous, and for the price point, it’s genuinely great value. I’d happily go back 💕 by @yoursbrunchly

🫖 Kicking off Afternoon Tea Week with
@theconnaught! I very much enjoyed this afternoon tea. I visited with @sosiesays @hazeleatsout and @alli.n.eats 💕For £85 this includes a glass of sparkling hojicha tea to begin. It wasn’t personally to my taste, but it was a lovely way to start the experience.
We visited over the weekend, so we were lucky enough to have a live harpist playing throughout the afternoon (the harpist performs Friday to Sunday), which really added to the atmosphere.
The sandwiches were lovely! The bread was incredibly soft, the smoked salmon filling was generous, and I loved that the sandwiches were unlimited, so you could go back for your favourites. The vanilla éclair and chocolate sponge were my personal favourites. The pastries were beautifully made and so delightful 🥰

If you’re looking for a classic luxury afternoon tea in London, this is one I’d happily recommend. taken in The Connaught, Mayfair by @yoursbrunchly

Pizza night, but make it Suprema. 🍕✨

We tried the new Suprema range from @droetkerpizzauk — both the La Romana and the La Margherita had that premium taste you can really tell is high-quality, but the La Romana was definitely my favorite. 🤤

The crust? Light, airy, and perfectly crisp. The slow-risen dough gives it that beautiful char and texture that makes every bite feel special. Topped with rich Emilia-Romagna passata, spianato salami, and aged pecorino… yummy, artisanal-quality pizza straight from your freezer.

Honestly, it’s the kind of pizza that makes staying in feel that little bit fancy. 🎬

If there’s only ONE place I recommend you visit in Sarandë it has to be @manxurane_restaurant 🤌🏾 Hands down the best food we ate whilst in Albania. It was that good we ate here twice!

This restaurant has a really inviting and cosy vibes and the sunset views from here are incredible 😍

Both times I had the shrimp linguine which was 10/10. I did want to go for something else second time round but when something is as delish as this, why go for something else? 😅 This dish was piping hot and so mouthwateringly delish. The flavours were just incredible ! 🤤
My cousin had the seafood linguine which was also sensational.

If you visit, make sure you make a reservation because it does get busy and for very good reason 💫
