One life ~ So live it your way 🤎 🇧🇲
God’s Grace
Here is a glimpse, never the full picture ✨

ONE MAMA 🙏🏽 To the woman I admired and prayed many times to one day be like, THANK YOU. I may have only had all of you for 23 years but in those 23 years you gave me the best experiences, support, guidance and protected me from things I did not know. Unconditional Love 🧡

For ten years we watched the powerhouse you were fade from dementia at only 55.

No one explains all that comes with that diagnosis and how could they, it is so complex and varied. To watch the person who raised you and taught you life’s basics slowly become dependent on you for those same things…Nothing prepares you and them for that shift in dynamics.

Nothing prepares you for when it starts to get “easier”, it is because they are nearing the end. You regain bits of your life or find balance because they are ultimately loosing their battle. And then one day you regain your autonomy and your free will, but at the cost of them no longer being physically with you.

To anyone who may experience the caregiver journey: You are not alone, it won’t be easy and none of it is fair. Do not try to do it alone. 🧡 Gods Grace by @yourstruly.kmb
