If you ask me, hojicha deserves its moment too 🤎✨ It’s like matcha, but sometimes… dare I say, better 👀😂 That deep, roasted, slightly nutty flavour just hits different.

Finally gave the matcha paste method a try… 🍵

I’ve always reached for my favourite matcha from @yumenomatcha and this time I tried their newly dropped Ume no Shiro blend!

Taste-wise, it’s incredibly smooth and well balanced, with a gentle sweetness, mellow umami, and barely any bitterness. It worked beautifully with the paste method and would be just as enjoyable whisked traditionally or made into a latte.

New arrivals are here 🍵

We’re excited to welcome two new matcha from Gion Tsujiri, one of Kyoto’s most iconic tea houses.

Founded in Uji in 1860 before establishing its home in Gion, Kyoto, Gion Tsujiri has become a must visit for tea lovers. If you’ve visited Kyoto, there’s a good chance you’ve enjoyed one of their famous matcha parfaits alongside a cup of their tea.

We’re also introducing Marukyu Koyamaen’s Hojicha Powder a much requested item. Made from high quality first flush tea leaves, it offers a smooth, roasted flavour with naturally lower caffeine, making it perfect for an afternoon or evening cup.

Also joining the collection are Marukyu Koyamaen Hojicha Tea Bags for an easy way to enjoy the same comforting roasted flavour.

30ml hot water (70–80°C, NOT boiling)
90ml milk
