I keep thinking about this line.
About what we do when something feels wrong. About speaking up. About standing with people. About not allowing violence, hatred and injustice to become normal.

Pandit Ki Daud M***** Tak is my small attempt at having that conversation through a story.

I don't know how much a story can change, but I know there is something beautiful about a story travelling from one person to another, from one city to another, and making two strangers sit together for an hour and feel something in common. Maybe that is enough.

Grateful to be a small part of these stories and to carry them with me. If they come to your city, come sit with us, listen, and be a part of them.

Let's keep telling. Let's keep listening. Let's keep the good stories alive. 🪴

I saw @yusuffice play Pandit ki daud m.. tak day before yesterday, and it affected me so deeply. There's a line in the play about how language sometimes goes over your head but the words still touch your heart, and that spark that this play lit for me isn't going to ever go out. It's all performed by one person, and yet somehow feels like the voice of everyone... An indictment of hatred and a celebration of what Sufi saints like Kabir believed, that being human means we are all one, the borders of religion should not be used to separate and incite violence.

In that same philosophy I used benarasi silk saree patterns, patterns that take from the lineage of both Hindu and Muslim art and combine them to represent the natural world around us. Thank you so much for making your art! by @yusuffice
