Costa Rica was truly a magical experience for both shaina and I. We spent the week exploring the rain forest meeting countless people who lived the life of PURA VIDA. We ate amazing food and saw the country the way we were supposed to, one monkey at a time. Costa Rica will forever hold a spot in our heats.

32 years around the sun never looked so good. I’ve had the pleasure to watch you grow into the woman you are today. What a glow up these last 12 years have been. I’ve watched you tackle obstacle after obstacle and crush each and every one of them. 6 months ago today we lost our soul dog, Zoey.

to being honest, there has been many days we thought would be impossible to live through without her. for 11 days shy of 11 years together, we were inseparable. and you don’t just move on from that..

Sunday has helped our hearts slowly soften the greatest loss of our lives. She’s brought us laughter and smiles on days we couldn’t see past deep sorrow, grief, and sadness. & in the same regard, Zoey prepared us for Sunday - in every way possible.

there isn’t a day that goes by that we aren’t talking about Zoey, comparing Sundays behavior and personality similarities to hers.

Zoey will be forever grieved, loved and deeply, deeply missed but hopefully she is resting easy knowing her pup angel, Miss Sunday, is protecting and taking care of her humans until we all can be reunited again🦴🐾🐶 by @zacattack.93

on January 8th, 2026 our sweet girl Zoey crossed the rainbow bridge and gained her heavenly wings💔🪽there are simply no words to encapsulate the impact Zoey had on our lives and our hearts.

her story is my favorite, it was entirely fate she became ours. less than 2 weeks living together for the first time in Oregon, Zac had a moment and said we need a dog, I can’t live without one. So we searched. Rescue after rescue, until one night sitting in bed randomly on Craigslist, there she was. Free. 2 hours away.

The very next day, we drove to check her out. We pulled up to a single family home in Sutherland, and once the door was open we locked eyes. In seconds, I knelt down to greet her and she placed her paws on my shoulders & smothered me in kisses. Right after me, she did the same to Zac. Almost to say “where have you been, I’ve been waiting for you guys!”

We took her home, bathed her for ~45mins from flees, took her to Petco & bought her first collar, and likely her first bed, and toys. She was perfect. Calm. Well mannered. Smiley. Bright and sunshine. Kind of potty trained, although our roommate at the time would beg to differ. And she was ours.

we spent 10 years & 12 months loving each other fiercely. only 11 days shy of 11 years together.
And 11 days shy of her 12th “birthday”.

Zoey loved sunbathing, cuddling on the couch, bouncing through the snow, playing at the beach, daily walks in the woods, camping & road trips, sorting through her many stuffies to choose her toy of the day, jumping from rock to rock on Lake Tahoe, bath time when she was dirty from adventures, going shopping and running errands.

But most importantly, she loved us so unconditionally. She was our soulmate and as much as it’s hard to admit, we both lost a piece of us when she passed.

Words will never be able to describe the pain of loosing you. You weren’t just a dog, you were a member of our family. We prioritized you in eveything we did. We made plans that revolved around you. Our nightly cuddles, our days running on the beach. I can’t stand the thought of you not being by our side. This world is cruel at best. The best things always seem to be taken from us at the wrong moments. We are always going to miss you my sweet baby girl. May you rest easy.. till we see you again. ❤️ 🐶 by @zacattack.93
