#ad The best gift this season is a checked-off to-do list! I powered through these jobs using @worxtools and their Power Share Battery platform was a game changer. A single battery powers over 150 different tools, so I just swapped the pack and kept it moving. #WorxTools #PowerShare taken in Toronto, Ontario by @zacbuilds

#ad Proper prep is the key to getting good results, and KILZ 3 PREMIUM Primer is the best way to keep those pesky knot stains from bleeding through to your topcoat. A lot of people (even pros) will skip this step, as these stains won’t show up until days or even weeks after you’ve finished painting. But once they do, they can ruin what would otherwise be a perfect painting job. So, protect your home and your hard work with a proper basecoat.

I finished this project with the BEHR PREMIUM PLUS Interior Paint and Primer in Blank Canvas.

THE FINALE IS HERE!

Another amazing season of Sienna Squad has come to a close, but not without a special finishing gift from our friend Alex at @anex_works. This year's build was truly a team effort led by @remarkableworks and @zacbuilds in partnership with @webuildadream and with a HUGE boost from the students from @westviewcentss - teamwork definitely made the dream work!

Thank you to our friends @slowhandpizza for the generous supply of pizza to keep our crew well fed We hope you enjoy the space for many years to come! by @zacbuilds

In this week's Sienna Squad episode, our partners @remarkableworks and @zacbuilds break down how they tackled every component of the major transformation at @slowhandpizza’s patio.

From a feature sliding door and stylish privacy fence to a garbage shelter and modular seating, this year’s build was packed with creativity, craftsmanship, and determination.

What was your favourite part of the transformation? Tell us in the comments! by @zacbuilds

#ad I can’t believe it’s been a full year since I teamed up with @markscanada for their #marksprotrades campaign. To say I made some new friends and had some amazing experiences would be an understatement. Not only did we get to raise awareness for the importance of the Trades, but we also legitimately had a ton of fun doing it.

And I saw WE because I wasn’t alone. @markscanada put together an all-star team of creators from across the country. They even went so far as to bring us all together on multiple occasions so that we could talk shop, strategize, and just hang out with likeminded trades people.

Probably the highlight of the year for me was the round table discussion we had here in Toronto. We discussed the challenges trades people face, trends we see in the industry, and importantly, what we think the future of the trades is here in Canada. This is just a little teaser, but the full video is live on YouTube and it’s definitely worth checking out! by @zacbuilds

Pull-ups and Pizza 🍕💪

The @slowhandpizza patio build is moving along nicely and now its time for the Sienna Squad to work on one of the focal points for the build: the pergola. A structural component as much as an aesthetic feature, the pergola will support the exterior walls AND be a great spot for patrons to catch some shade and enjoy a slice of pizza.

If you ever have any doubts about the structural integrity of your pergola, feel free to use the patented @remarkableworks pull-up test.

Stay tuned, because every pergola could use some seating underneath it 👀 by @zacbuilds

The kids are alright ⚡!

The Sienna Squad got a major boost this year, when students from @westviewcentss joined @remarkableworks , @zacbuilds and @webuildadream to get hands-on experience and transfer their learnings from the classroom to the job site.

Their time on-site was filled with energy, enthusiasm and some major skills - contributing to the build in a number of ways. Huge shoutout to all the educators across the country who inspire our young minds to embrace the trades and provide opportunities to learn in unique environments🧠

The Sienna Squad is back at @slowhandpizza and this week they are tackling one of the most important parts of this year's build - the entry way.

One of the biggest issues for owners Dan & Brett was the lack of a defined entry to the patio. They were eager to find a way to create an inviting, welcoming signpost that directed customers where to go. @remarkableworks jumped at the opportunity, designing and building a sliding door feature that is both functional and provides security in off-hours.

To maximize efficiency on site, Mark and the team at @webuildadream used the @anex_works shop. When possible, preassembling components ahead of time makes life on the job much easier 👌 by @zacbuilds

Did you know that you can just glue landscaping blocks together? Yet ANOTHER use case for @lepage_products PL Premium. I used their PL Premium Max adhesive to create this garden bed in shockingly little time.

Once the PL cures its ridiculously strong and water proof so I don't have to worry about this little block wall going anywhere. All I had to do was lay down some lines of it and stack the blocks. Literally couldn't have been any easier and really transformed the space. Check out the before and after!

I get by with a little help from my friends🎵

This season, @webuildadream joined @remarkableworks and @zacbuilds on the Sienna Squad. Their mandate? Deliver programs that encourage and empower female students to explore careers where women are under-represented, while also working to create a gender-balanced workforce and change global perspectives on women’s contribution to society.

We were thrilled to partner with We Build A Dream to help create opportunities to spread awareness and grow opportunities in the skilled trades for young women across Canada 🇨🇦 by @zacbuilds
