Rest in Paradise 🌈
Dr. Hal Ornstein ❤️
12.15.59-03.17.26

Words would not do justice to articulate how much impact my father had on this world. The outpour of love my family has received honoring my father’s life is indescribable. Anyone who has ever been blessed with the privilege of crossing paths with my father knows how truly special he made every interaction feel. The love, warmth, grace, compassion, empathy, and time that my father provided for each and every person in this world will never go unnoticed and I will forever envy the fact in knowing that more of the world did not get to feel his unconditional love for a longer period of time. With that being said, ‘God has never been wrong’, and it is a blessing to know that our loved ones who suffer on this earth get to Rest.In.Paradise
Grief provides an immense amount of duality in our lives. We feel broken, yet we become healed by knowing how blessed we truly are to have loved someone so deeply. True love will never allow you to accept your loved ones are truly gone and that is why we never ‘get over’ loss, but rather we learn to carry the spirit and warmth of our loved ones with us as we navigate life. There are always more questions we wish we would have asked, more hugs and kisses we wish we would have given and taken, and more ‘I Love You’s’ we wish we had said, but we must rejoice knowing how grief allows us to ‘feel so deeply because we loved someone deeply’. As I have been lingering around the home that my parents so graciously provided for my brother and I, I want to share two notes my father wrote to himself years ago.
1.”Whatever God Gives You, Give More Back”
-We must not ask what we can get from this world, but we must live to ask how we can serve those around us. While my father walked this earth, he was a true servant of others and lived each day to make those around him feel more comfortable and at peace. Do all you can to give as much as you can and you will be graced with more than you could have ever asked for. CONTINUE READING BELOW ⬇️ by @zackornstein

Recruiting is like taking vitamins! https://youtu.be/_f2C0zmaNro

In sports, and in life, you need to go where you’re valued. Just because a path seems elite doesn’t mean it’s right for you. Investing in yourself creates a compound effect over time, but there are no guarantees if you don’t put in the work.

Nobody Reads Yesterday’s Newspaper https://youtu.be/_f2C0zmaNro

Don’t dwell on past mistakes; yesterday’s newspaper is unread. Learn from losses, clear your head, and focus on the next play. A calm mind wins the game.

Why The Better Player Isn’t Always Recruited https://youtu.be/_f2C0zmaNro

Recruiting isn’t just about who’s best NOW. Elite coaches see the long game, investing in potential, character, and the ‘it’ factor, not just current skill.

New Episode Alert: 🚨https://youtu.be/_f2C0zmaNro 🚨Raising the Game: D1 Recruit, Father, & Coach on Mindset & Recruiting

In this intimate, family-style conversation, host Danny Rosenberg sits with his son Jacob—a talented face-off specialist—and Jacob’s mentor Zack Ornstein (owner of ZRO Performance / former D1 player) to unpack the mental demands of elite athletics, especially the unique pressure of the face-off position in lacrosse. Through raw, reflective stories, they explore turning nerves into fuel, releasing bad performances, navigating recruiting with realistic expectations, and building an identity that isn’t defined by the game. A hopeful, grounded listen for young athletes, parents, coaches, or anyone facing high-stakes moments in sport or life.

What’s one high-pressure moment—on the field or in life—where you turned nervous energy into focus and flow?
