Shout out to those people dealing with hurts that they can't discuss with others because the people around them say the statue of limitations has been reached for their situation. They say "you should be over that by now" or, "you just have to keep pushing forward", and "you cant do anything about it now" or my personal favorite, "it wasnt that bad." I noticed that when I stopped trying to get others to understand my hurt it set me free from the expectations I placed on them to support me through my healing.You dont need anyone to validate your hurt. If it hurts you, it hurts you.
Good news: The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18
Its more than comforting to know that even though the world is telling you to 'just get over' whatever is hurting you there is someone that knows everything about you and still promises He will be close to you during your saddest times.

Today makes one year since my dad passed away.
February 28, 2025.

He died one week before our wedding on March 7, 2025.

When his health declined, we moved the wedding up so he could be there.

He gave his blessing…

But he wasn’t able to make it.

We chose to marry the week after he passed. One week I was his daughter in his home. The next week I was standing in a courthouse becoming a wife.

From planning a funeral to entering into a covenant.

This year has been quietly hard. It still hurts.

What steadies me is this: my father knew Jesus, and he loved me. Boldly. Publicly. I never had to guess. I always knew.

That certainty is something I inherited. I carry the knowledge that I was deeply loved.

One year later, I’m still grieving.

Still adjusting.

Still his daughter.
