I LEARNT TO READ THE ROOM BEFORE I READ MYSELF

For a long time, I thought being hyper-aware was maturity.
That anticipating shifts in energy was wisdom.
That sensing everything around me would somehow keep me safe.

But it didn’t.
It pulled me away from myself.

And if you are someone who became fluent in everyone else’s needs
while slowly losing touch with your own,
if you learned to adjust, soften, shrink
before you ever learned to listen inward,
this is for you.

It is time to learn to come home to yourself.

WHEN ALL IS LEFT BUT YOU

Blooming doesn’t follow the seasons, it follows your surrender.

Has it really taken me 11 months to show you this piece again?
Maybe that’s fitting… because surrender has its own timing too.

This painting has lived with me quietly for almost a year, teaching me, reminding me, softening me. And now it feels right to let it breathe again.

The truth is, spring doesn't decide when you grow. Life doesn’t wait for warm weather or perfect timing to transform you.
The real blooming starts the quieter seasons, the cold ones, when life feels still, when things fall silent, when you’re left alone with your own heartbeat and honesty.

That’s where surrender begins.
Not dramatic, not loud, just a slow unclenching.
A decision to pour into yourself with tenderness.
To speak kindly over your own spirit.
To wash yourself in words that heal instead of words that wound.

Every time I look at it, I’m reminded that solitude isn’t a punishment.
It’s an invitation.
A place where you finally make room for the version of you that’s trying to become.

I hope you love it as much as I do. 🤍

What a weekend.

Still processing it all, honestly. Truly honoured to have taken part in @hernehillartfair and so grateful for the love, conversations, encouragement and support I received throughout the weekend. To @luanaasiata_art it exceeded every expectation I had.

When Strength Became Her Language

When did survival become personality? When did coping become character? And what parts of the self were set aside in the process?

This work explores the quiet moment resilience stops feeling like a choice and begins to feel like identity. How endurance can become so familiar it is worn like skin, learned early and carried so long it feels innate.

It reflects on the unseen cost of being capable. The private weight that can live behind composure, and the tenderness that still exists beneath discipline, routine, and self-control.

At the heart of the piece is the tension between strength and softness, protection and vulnerability, survival and the longing to simply be. by @zerbabel_mambo
