Hey it’s your pal Chantel,

Some of you may see me wondering the streets of Durham, shopping around Hanover or driving through Walkerton.

Or maybe even seen me doing a few of my hobbies which include:

• Any sort of physical activities like walking, hiking, biking, running, weight lifting, swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing, ya know pretty much all the fun things you can do outside in the summer

• I’ve recently been taking up reading and try to pair it with a good view or an early morning coffee

• On that note, a minimum of 2 morning coffees is essential to start the day weather it’s a hot coffee, a nice iced one, or a Brust protein coffee

• My best friend owns @danceunlimitedco and that’s my favourite flex right now (; I’m such a proud friend and I couldn’t be happier about her newest chapter

• I’ve been photographing a ton of maternity’s and newborns, and I’m actually so so honoured and they really have been bringing out my creative side sooo keep em coming

• I have two dogs (Moose & Duke) that I try to include in our daily adventures and make sure they get tons of love and attention

• This photography business started in the thick of COVID in 2020 and I can’t believe it’s been 4 years since I’ve began this journey 🤯

• Speaking of 4 years, my biggest fear in life is losing time. I have so many big plans and dreams and I have this huge fear of not having enough time to do all the things that I want

• Lastly, I’m a big lover of the outdoors! Anywhere I go I try to stay in my camping hammock or my van that has a built in bed in the back. I’m always going to prefer camping around nature over a city hotel so being outside is the easiest way for me to have a clear mind and happy heart

Thanks for sticking around to listen to a few fun facts about me, as great as I can be showing up in stories I rarely show myself on the permanent feed but it’s my goal to get better at it!

We grew up walking the same school halls, and now I get to photograph the moment Megan and Jacob start a whole new chapter together.

That tiny photo in their engagement newspaper? It was from one of our very first shoots — and now here we are, years later, capturing their engagement.

It’s moments like these that make this job feel so rewarding and effortless. What an honour to witness this kind of full-circle love.

lately i’ve been figuring out what i want life to look like, both personally and in my business.

making more room for myself, while also filling a notebook with things i want to create.

a few things on my mind:
monthly themed minis
winter sessions in airbnbs + studios
new locations + creative ideas
more destination weddings + elopements

but i also want to hear from you...

if you’ve thought about booking photos but haven’t, what’s holding you back? finding the time? choosing a location? knowing what to wear? feeling awkward in front of the camera? budget?

A little reminder that your family can be chaotic and you can still get amazing photos.

Your kids don’t need to sit still. Nobody needs to nail every pose. You can run around, get distracted, laugh, and just be yourselves.

If the chemistry is there, why the heck would we pose it away?

A gallery this good starts with you two just being yourselves and getting lost in the moment.

Sure, I’ll give you a little direction when you need it, but for the most part? I want you to forget I’m even there!

Here’s what you can expect when I’m behind the camera:
♡ Zero pressure to know how to pose
♡ Kiss, get close, pull each other in, do your thing
♡ Direction when you need it, without killing the moment
♡ A photographer who’s basically just your third wheel with a camera (you two can carry on, I’ve got a job to do!)
♡ A session that feels like a date, with a gallery you’ll be a little obsessed with

Some weddings are big and full. Others are small and deeply intimate. I love them both.

Hayley and Riley eloped in Italy with their closest friends and family, then came home to Canada to sign their marriage licence privately with their officiant, one witness, and me.

After that, it was just us wandering the beach through golden hour and letting the evening unfold. by @zettelphoto

PLOT TWIST: This wasn’t a couples session at all. Keep swiping for the reveal!

I’m not even kidding, this one was a freaking blast. They had a vision, we had the perfect setting, and then we just went for it! The kind of session where you leave already knowing the gallery is going to be GOOD!

And obviously, I stole mom and dad for a hot second. (I mean, come on… look at them!) I love it when parents are down to get in on the fun, too! Trust me, you’re never going to regret squeezing in a few photos that are just the two of you!

Here’s the thing about family photos: you don’t need a big milestone to make them worth doing. While your kids are young and you’re both right in the middle of raising them, this is a chapter you’ll want to remember. by @zettelphoto

This is what I mean when I say I want you to FORGET you’re being photographed.

These two got so caught up in each other that I could just hang back, third-wheel from a safe distance, and let them do their thing!

I don’t want your photos to feel like you spent an hour performing for a camera. I want them to feel like you got lost in each other for a while, somewhere ridiculously beautiful, and I just happened to catch it.📸 by @zettelphoto
