Ok so boom!

One of the greatest things about being an actor is that an opportunity exists to extend your family. With that being said, I’m beyond grateful and blessed for my @parablethemovie family. From the our first zoom meet all the way through to our first premiere @richeysuncoasttheatre & second premiere @armourtheater Kansas City the love and laughs have continued to grow!

I was constantly inspired by the entire cast and crew and it was a gift to experience PARABLE with you all on the big screen. Thank you all for being patient while I would eat fruit snacks between takes (…sometimes during).

I ended up getting a bit sick with a stomach bug toward the end of the trip but trust me when I say, I’d do it all over again. I’ve had a ton on my plate and have been trying my best to balance things - needless to say, being with y’all came at the right time!

Love yall - Thankful to The Lord for yall - Looking forward to all that is to come!

When I first started to perform live, I used to perform over the top of my recorded track and “karaoke” my way through my song. In all honesty, it was because I was wild nervous and I feared forgetting my own words and looking foolish. As I grew as an artist, so did my comfort level on stage and I started to transition to what’s called a Performance Track which would contain a pre-recorded hook and maybe some key words I wanted to highlight during my performance. I’m now at another stage of growth where I don’t even want a backing/performance track…just the music, preferably live instrumentation. I love where the growth has taken me. It allows me to connect a lot better and really create an experience for myself and whoever is present.

If you’re a musician/lyricist/emcee, kudos to you for putting yourself out there and keep killin it 🙏🏾. Whichever stage of performance you’re in - be open to take things to the next level. Sometimes less is more.

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!

Man…words really can’t describe what I’m feeling.
First and foremost, look at what The Lord has done!

Yesterday, I grabbed my old prayer journal. On a page from a couple of years ago, I had written:

“Series regular role on major network TV.”

Reading it left me in awe…like, I just sat, shaking my head, amazed

Sidenote…there’s a few other things written down that I had to cover. That’s for the 3, not the 12, Iykyk

But yea, I included a photo of my journal not because I want anyone to walk away thinking God is some kind of genie who grants wishes. It’s actually the opposite.

I wanted to highlight His goodness because if I’m being honest, every amazing thing He’s done in my life has been because of His grace, not because I’ve earned it.

To keep it real, if you flip through that same journal and my current…you’ll also find filled pages where I wrote about feeling unseen and forgotten. Wondering if God hears me at all. Maybe you’ve been there too.

So let me encourage somebody today…I fall short and miss the mark over and over…so if you’re anything like me just know :

His Promises still stand.

Not because of who we are, but because of who He is.
To everyone who has prayed for me, encouraged me, supported me, watched an episode, shared a post, bought a ticket, sent a text, or simply believed in me when things were uncertain, Thank You. I genuinely mean that.

I’ve had the privilege of playing Eric on Besties since Season 1 back in 2018, and watching her vision come to life has been amazing.

I remember when she was wearing every hat..writing, directing, producing, editing, and making things happen however she could…now we’re headed to Fox.

There are still things written in my journals and prayers that I haven’t seen come to pass yet.But in faith, I believe God is still working. For His Glory

Today, marks another year around the sun… and I don’t take a moment of it for granted.

Thinking of last week, when I had the honor of hosting the Harlem YMCA Achievers Gala , standing at that podium, in a room filled with excellence, celebrating the next generation of leaders.

I was reminded of purpose and the many people who continue to encourage and support me along this journey. I’m thankful for many things…the ability to serve, to pour into others, and to represent something bigger than myself.

Thank you to the YMCA for the trust and the opportunity to be part of such an impactful night. Thank you to everyone I get to exchange hugs, daps, laughs, messages and love with.

And above all, Thank You Lord. None of this happens without Him

Grateful for another year. Grateful for the journey.

FEATURE FILM BOOKED. 🙏🏾🎬

Honestly speaking - when I sent this tape in, I didn’t think it was a home run. Deep down I didn’t feel confident that I had delivered a winning audition. My mind started to create all kinds of sabotaging thoughts:

“What am I doing?”
“Am I talented?”
“That facial expression was weird, casting won’t like that”

…then I hit the “submit” button

Truly grateful for this opportunity and excited for what’s ahead. Big love to my brothers @artieshawjr and @nathanlhenderson for holding it down and helping bring the audition to life — and major thanks to @drop40productions @influencercreatoracademy for jumping in and making the tape happen 🎥
