Introducing my new lighting sculptures inspired by my childhood summers in southern Turkey. 
The series reimagines the traditional Turkish su kabağı (calabash gourd) lamp, crafted in Turkey’s southern regions using age‑old perforation techniques. Traditionally, the gourds are harvested in autumn, left to dry, and then carefully carved throughout the winter. A seasonal practice deeply tied to both nature and local craft traditions. The collection translates a core memory into clay, creating cultural continuity by reinterpreting a familiar object through a different material. Each lamp is traced by a movement that is entirely intuitive and unique. 
Editions of LAMP NO. II will be on view at Narratives of Making at @maj_van_der_linden Gallery, presented as part of @currents.berlin during @berlinartweek.

I’m happy to share that I’ll be exhibiting at @enterartfair with @neudeutsch.collective , curated by @julian_daynov in collaboration with the German Embassy. 
As the only non-German artist invited to present work alongside a new generation of German creatives, this feels especially meaningful. Thank you @julian_daynov
