Today we had a talk; Colour & Emotion, an event related to the “Colour” exhibition at the Royal Pavilion. @brighton_museums Hosted by Alexandra Loske @saschaloske and together with inspiring guests Jenny Bosten and Emma Bestley @moveovermagnolia @yes.colours we discussed the subjectivity of colour and how its perception is always person-dependent.

As a colour consultant, I design colour palettes by exploring how people associate colours, how their cultural background shapes those associations, and the emotions they connect to them. Engaging with other experts in this discussion was not only enriching, but also deeply connected to my own work and research.

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us! taken in Royal Pavilion Brighton by @zeyneppsagir

For the second season of “Stories in Colour”, our episode “Discovering History’s Women Colour Theorists” is available to watch on the National Gallery’s socials!

It has been a real privilege to be part of this with Alexandra @saschaloske and to be in conversation around the fascinating history of women colour theorists; Martha Gartside, Emily Noyes Vanderpoel, Bonnie E. Snow, Carry van Biema!

This is an important body of research and it has been a joy to help bring it into focus. Thank you @nationalgallery 🩵

The 3rd edition of Exploring Colour: Books on Display took place yesterday at @bleocollective

Thank you to everyone who joined us and spent the day thinking and talking about colour.

A big thank you to GF Smith @gfsmithpapers for supporting this edition and bringing Colorplan @colorplan_papers into the exhibition. Visitors were invited to respond to the colours and materials through their own associations, feelings and words, creating a collective study of colour throughout the day.

And thank you to @rayascollective for their colourful bags, carrying our books around Copenhagen!

This edition feels like the beginning of a wider colour experience with Blēo. More colour to come 🤍 taken in Copenhagen,Demark by @zeyneppsagir

We’re thrilled to announce The Colour Club’s 3rd event, Exploring Colour: Books on Display, supported by GF Smith @gfsmithpapers taking place on 3 October at Blēo @bleocollective Copenhagen!

The exhibition brings together a curated collection of books on colour, spanning from the 1850s to the present day. Through colour theory, history, psychology, art and design, the collection looks at how our understanding and use of colour has developed over time. The selection includes rare and significant publications alongside contemporary editions, available to browse and read throughout the day.

The collection includes:

• A Nomenclature of Colors for Naturalists — Robert Ridgway (1886)
• Elementary Colour — Milton Bradley (1928)
• Principles of Color and Color Mixing — Jacques Henri Bustanoby (1947)
• Kunst der Farbe — Johannes Itten (1961)
• The Natural System of Colours — Moses Harris (1963)
• The Magic of Colour — Thomas H. Wolf (1964)
• Goethe’s Colour Theory (1971)

+many more!

For this edition, we’re collaborating with GF Smith, bringing Colorplan @colorplan_papers into the exhibition to explore colour beyond the page. Through material, touch and perception, the collaboration considers how colour is experienced and how those experiences translate into emotion and language. Visitors will be invited to contribute their own responses, forming a collective study of colour throughout the day.

Colour Diary considers the Crafts Council Gallery through colour, bringing together impressions of the building’s past and present without assigning either work to a specific moment in time. The two works are intended to be read together as a subjective colour study, shaped by research, observation and personal interpretation rather than as a literal or chronological record of the building.

Showing as part of the second edition of LTAA’s Ambassadors of Design with CARPEL.

Very excited to share that The Colour Club’s “Books on Display” will be a part of “The Way You Make Me Feel”, an exhibition created by Conran and Partners @conranandpartners GF Smith @gfsmithpapers and YesColours @yes.colours

;built around the idea that colour is something we feel as much as we see, the exhibition brings together colour, memory and emotion through a series of shared responses across the space, creating a collective archive of feelings, associations and moods.
