Tomorrow evening, we’re honored to welcome Ari Weinzweig, co-founder of Zingerman’s Community of Businesses (@zingermanscommunity), to Alma for a conversation about leadership, dignity and the everyday practice of democracy. Ari’s work has long influenced the way organizations think about culture, hospitality and shared responsibility. His newest book, Why Democracy Matters, explores how principles like trust, transparency and agency can shape not only our communities but our workplaces and daily lives. Join us Tuesday, July 21 from 5–7 pm for an evening of conversation co-hosted with Heidi Andermack of @chowgirlscatering. This past Tuesday night, @zingermansroadhouse was honored to host the launch event for Ann Arbor-based writer and poet @shellychatterelli’s debut novel, "Knowin' Sugar," published last month by @fauve_press. ⁠ ⁠ She spoke with Zingerman's co-founder Ari Weinzweig about the book—a deeply personal coming-of-age tale set in the 1940s, in the Appalachian mountains of Southeast Kentucky, where Chatterelli’s parents were born and raised. ⁠ Read all about it on the Zingerman's Community blog (link in profile)!⁠ ⁠ 📷: Jennifer Mazza Photography taken in Zingerman's Roadhouse by @zingermanscommunity
