Hi friends and welcome to my book tour stop for the fantastic wonderful book that is DREAMWEAVING by O.O. Sangoyomi!!!!!

I loved this book so much. I’ve been in such a killed reading slump, but I read this in just two sittings, which has not happened to me lately. This book really sucks you in and doesn’t let you go for nothing and I LOVED that.

We flip between two POVs, Deja Freeman, who transferred to Tanglewood Academy because it’s where her mother went, and there’s a whole lot of history with that, but NO SPOILERS, but she’s not too happy about it.

The other POV is of star student, Tóbi Ẹkúndayọ̀. Name any club, she’s probably not only IN it, but president or vice president of it. She strives to be the best for her parents, but it’s also way deeper than that. You’ll have to read the book to find out more, cause again, NO SPOILERS!

While it flips between those two, we find out how different and yet how similar the two are. There’s a whole friend group that forms after a meteorite hits and everyone sees The Web, which Deja has grown up alongside, but was never really truly a part of because her mom never wanted her to become a weaver, so her aunt and family respected her wishes and kept Deja away from that.

This book had such a cool magic system, it was fascinating to read about The Web and weaving. It’s hard to explain it in detail, but it was interesting to read about. And how it stays in the community and gets passed down from your family.

All the characters had such distinct personalities and motivations/aspirations and it was so fun to read about them from Deja and Tóbi’s POV. We get a sapphic relationship in this, but also found family and such meaningful connections between the characters. Within the five of them, each person has an individual relationship with the other four, and I think that’s pretty hard to describe and keep track of, but this book did it very well.

The mystery of Dawn Novak really drew me in and seeing everyone work together to figure it out, and their dreams/visions was really great.

Sadly im still in a reading slump, BUT am making steady progress through this wonderful book! I love dystopian AND romance and when you combine the two? I’m in heaven!!!! Currently 33% in and hoping to lock in and finish it today (im off). 🫡

My journal spread I made in honor of today!

I usually throw a bunch of stickers together and call it a day, but I couldn’t find a lot that matched the cover and/or general vibe of the book, so it’s more simple compared to my usual chaotic spreads but!!!! This was made using the mailer my T-shirt came in!! ❤️

But the good news? It’s not me.😆 and no, I’m not crossing my fingers behind my back either, see. ✋

Just take a look at my very clean (clean is subjective shut up) desk space where I work on all things pertaining to the Legal Department!

A rat? MOI? I should say NOT! Me being in the Coalition is like Chloe Gong being the worst boss ever. See? NOT possible, in any way, shape OR form!!!!! And if you do try to accuse me, I’d say, go ahead and turn that finger around and look at YOURSELF!!!!! 🫵

Happy The Love Hypothesis Movie day to all who celebrate!!! it’s now out on prime for everyone to watch yay!

i had such a great time last night watching it on the big screen in Austin!!! when i got the message from @litandleafy asking if i wanted to help out with this, i was like OMG! DUH! YES! OF COURSE! IM THERE!!!!

I wouldn’t have missed out on helping out at this for the world!!! I loved the movie, it was so funny!! My fave moments were probably any time Anh or Malcolm were on the screen and when Olive was being her awkward, sweaty self!! She’s so me!!!!!

Thank you to all the people who made this event happen @litandleafybooks and all the people helping out @nadireads @meghann.reads @thelavenderkettle @adventure.in.books @the.green.bookshelf and more! It was so nice to meet some faces I’ve definitely seen and connect with familiar ones again! <333

Loyalty IS my middle name. To show that off, I’d like to present some of my Chloe Gong book collection, AND every time I’ve pestered, no sorry I mean, lovingly chatted with our Branch Head when she seems to come to the (well lovely is a strong word for it) state of Texas for company rallies. Yeehaw, thank you to her publishers and bookstores for making her trek down here. ;)

I’m proud of my collection, BUT am always looking to add to it, so if you ever for some absolute heinous reason, need to offload a Chloe Gong book of yours, think of me first. 🥹
